Its a style old almost as cinematic history I have a five year old. And he can distinguish between violence between none existing characters/beings and existing ones. He do think wrestlers don't exists though.
No, only that outside of a few core things in life what I want in my entertainment is different now than it was a decade and change ago.
No. Just because they kinda made it work for Joker doesn't mean it would work for Megatron. Megatron isn't insane like Joker - he's imply power hungry. He's literally an 80s supervillain, a Sparticus turned evil type. Joker only even exists because, like all of Batman's biggest villains, he represents a part of what Batman is reflected in a mirror. Specifically, Joker is Batman's insanity because he's a dude dressed up as a goddamn bat fighting crime because he still hasn't gotten over the trauma of his parents getting murdered in front of him as a child. Why wouldn't his greatest enemy be a literal clown?
It could have been a movie about working class robots giving upper class robots comeuppance. Similar to working class people against the rich. Literally a Megatron movie would work if it was a Cybertron prequel.
How about an 18 Rated movie like Dredd or Hardcore Henry with loads of gore and destruction, sex, drugs and cybertronian bars with serving bots walking around minus their torso plates if ya know what I mean.
so a live action adaptation of IDW's Megatron Origin? that would be cool I like when they give the cons more of a reason to fight than just blind conquest. how bout no. this is still a kid franchise and the most it would ever go is pg-13. I don't see the purpose in needless in taking it that far.
I agree, Transformers can appeal to an older audience without relying on violence, potty humor or sex jokes. You know, the things people hated the other films for?
indeed though I will note that none of the movies went as far as what the guy above me proposed. I have no problem with people disliking the movies because of these things I'm not all that much a fan of those parts of the movie myself but I don't think the movies ever really crossed a line in my opinion anyway. if Hasbro released the a movie where the cons have a Russian Revolution style uprising I think it would do well.
lol an R-rated Decepticon movie. You might as well ask for an NC-17 Predacon movie. Or maybe a Wreckers straight to DVD porn movie. You understand Hasbro is a toy company, right?
To me, the franchise crossed the line when they had wheelie hump someones leg, gave a character a huge red penis, gave a combiner testicles, and instead of making characters, we got racist stereotypes.
when did the penis happen? I don't remember that. as for the other stuff I did not notice devastators balls (and I was the prime age range for these movies) and even now when I rewatch it I don't really notice it. as for the racism while there is an argument for it I remember reading somewhere that the voice actors for the twins didn't really find it offensive. does it excuse it? no it does not but it still tame compared to what going in America now. the only line the movies can cross for me is if they suddenly start advocating for enslavement, genocide, or have GOT level sex scenes and gore. I didn't really noticed the leg humping scene when it came out, I don't care for it now, but my friends from the time it came out (we were in seventh grade) certainly did and they still do. the stuff they talked when it came out would put allot of the innuendos in the movie to shame. your free to disagree of course as we all are.
I want to know when we are gonna get Dick-Bot in the Studio Series line. Maybe partner him up with Oreo-Bot & Dispensor
Pretty much describes most of the ‘adult’ humor in the films. Series the movies are suppose to be about alien robots, not a college frat house.
