No. No to all of that. We already had this thread blow up with the "MSRP vs. discount" argument and it was determined that this thread is for DISCOUNT DEALS AND SALES only. No MSRP posts, no discussions about what's fraud and what's not, and certainly no more arguing about what should and shouldn't be considered a deal. Mods have already taken their stance on the issue and there's no reason to bring it up again.

:lol  No one was tattling. We were commenting that the deal that @OCProwl had posted was no longer available, not that the post was irrelevant.

    Reading comprehension is muy importante.

Ironhide has the distinction as the only Studio Series figure that never peg warmed, been discounted, never showed up on eBay Hasbrotoyshop/Pulse, and gets scalped beyond MSRP since it's itnitial release window. :p

Example for what? My post was a response to a question... Might want to read up properly, before quoting.

Yeah that was... weird. Well anyway I think my post counted as a deal since it was (*does rough napkin calculation*) 25% off MSRP. But I mostly posted it to keep a record of "how low will Omega go." I hope it doesn't get deleted just because it went out of stock nearly immediately (Warehouse deals are usually one and done... until they get another one.)

Me, I'm waiting to see what Black Friday / Christmas brings.

The irony is that I clearly told you guys I wasn't specifically responding to your posts! :)  Did you not see the parenthesis directly below the quotes? :sly:

I respect that, but must point out a small flaw in the logic: what if the poster does not KNOW that the figure isn't rare? For example, if my local area doesn't have any Impactor's, and I post an MSRP "deal", I might get harassed for mentioning a toy that isn't rare (even though I believed it to be rare when making that post!). It's a paradox, isn't it?

So posting a warehouse "deal" where only ONE item is available is somehow better than a discussion about whether or not collectors should be using the last Target deal as a way to get future figures cheaply? Honestly, the idea of using a Target deal to do that IS a deal because it's a specific tactic for getting TFs cheaply.

The thread responds with cries of theft, fraud, impropriety, etc., but the original poster was saying it was a good way to get your toys for less money!
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look, I came here to post about a Walmart deal I just found, but the disparaging, unfriendly attitude is downright disheartening! :(  Maybe someone else will find the Walmart deal and post it for me, or maybe it just won't get posted here. My point is that we should leave the MODs alone, and not treat this thread like a police-state! If we constantly get on each other's cases for every stupid side comment or discussion, we make this place unfriendly and not conducive for discussing deals. I'm sorry - no discussion allowed? No, wait. No discussion that some people deem irrelevant, even if it originates from a post that was made in order to save everyone money. I'm still confused, and the matter is not clear. What IS clear is that you guys want to attack one another instead of, say, posting something useful to move the conversation along. You know, the proper way to end a discussion: POSTING DEALS? Instead of complaining about posts? :(

    https://www.walmart.com/ip/Transfor...-249-16dd72828e5b60&athancid=null&athena=true

If you guys think I'm attacking you, then that's exactly the problem I'm trying to address on this thread! We're all friends here, so let's remember no one is out to get anyone. If someone wants to start complaining, the end result is always the same: MORE COMPLAINTS! :(  I don't understand this at all: why do you guys complain and then expect the thread to get back on track? For all of the complaining about the Target sale discussion, I found it incredibly helpful. If that doesn't matter to anyone, then why do I come here to post deals? :(

To address your concern, discussions of retail fraud, while certainly can be helpful, is NOT what this thread was intended for. As per the title itself, "official-sales-deals-and-coupons-thread," this thread was intended to allow users to see deals, sales, coupons, and price-cuts that they may not be aware of. The bickering over what this thread is about/intended for is what actually drives people away because most folks who watch this thread expect that when this thread is bumped, that someone posted a deal, a sale going on, coupons they can use to save money, or price cuts at major retailers and other stores whether they be brick and mortar, or online. The key thing is...helping others SAVE MONEY...not bicker over who committed a fraudulent act. Doing that will drive the thread off topic, and is actually against rule 1:

    1. No Insults, Trolling, Flaming, Name Calling, Harassing, Etc.
We will not tolerate insults, excessive profanity or throwing a topic off course. Use of racial, bigoted, sexist, or discriminatory terms or phrases is not accepted. Posts intended solely to antagonize others are not accepted. Keep topics/posts where they belong. Generally, “play nice”.

I've bolded and underlined the part where it applies. Now we all know discussions can get a bit off topic sometimes, so there's some leeway for that. But if it derails the thread into a conversation that this thread was not intended for, then we will step in.

If anyone still disagrees, then I will direct you all to the very first page of this thread, and a very clear and concise post made by an administrator here back in 2010:

Official Sales, Deals, and Coupons Thread

Hopefully that will help clear up any confusion or misunderstandings here. If anyone wants to discuss retail fraud in a respectful manner that doesn't involve any personal attacks on any users who have bragged about doing it or whatnot, there are other threads for that, or if not, you can certainly create one so as long as the discussion is within the board rules outlined here:

    TFW2005 Rules

With that said, please carry on folks :)

Lastly, thank you for posting that link to Walmart.com for the G1 reissue Optimus :)  Someone on here already took advantage of that. And that's what this thread is supposed to be about!

My hope is to avoid an argument - not create a new one.

I'm quoting the moderator's level set from August and his follow up. If you have a problem with an MSRP post don't post about it - message a mod. They'll make the decision and we all get to move along with a thread.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday.

How would one go about arguing for an expansion of what people can post in this topic?

Someone who wants this topic narrowed can report posts for deletion but someone who wants the topic expanded can’t report deleted posts for undeletion and can’t report a lack of posts that they wish people would make.

There are threads available to discuss literally everything else. It's not a matter of someone wanting the discussion narrowed, it's a matter of using the thread for what it's intended for.

Going forward, please start conversations with staff instead of posting it in here. It's off topic.

So not only is this G1 Hot Rod on sale for $19.87, but if you didn’t already have this ‘in hand,’ for an extra 2 or 3 dollars, you could be “in good hands, with Allstate.”

I guess in case you wanted to give the quintessons one humongous repair bill. ;)

Not to be a snob, but SS Ironhide was available at Target at a 25% discount last October. He's still also available for MSRP at Target.com and Amazon today.

In other news, I do not know if this qualifies as a true discount, but a number of the later SS Voyagers are $24/25 on Amazon.

That’s below MSRP, definitely qualifies as a discount.

That is correct. He never met saturation after he came out last October, and by around November last year to his sudden re-emergence October of this year, SS Ironhide had resided in 3rd party seller purgatory at aftermarket prices.
