I'm going to keep my open pre-orders. even if they dont look right FT figs go like hotcakes and can always re-coop my money invested.

 

I like the colors they chose for him, including the deep royal blue secondary color. I do wish they had found a better way for him to rest in his hover car mode. a small clear stand that is low would have made for a nice "hovering" look for him. Kind of like a little clear tray for him to lay on, for example. Not a big deal though, but it would've bee nice.

My big concern are his shoulders. PAIK's videos show his sample's shoulders are too weak to support the weight of holding his Targetmaster. This does concern me. Can anyone who already has a Jabber tell me if your copy also has similarly weak shoulders? I'm surprised FT did not use ratchets for him in that area.

 

So everyone with this in hand thinks the blue is fine?

Bet they're be first in line when the repaint preorders arrive  

 

This photo comes close to how the 'blue' colour actually is in hand. At least on my phone.

 

My suggestion is to do the middle way. Blurr? Who cares. Unless you care about the character obviously, but Astrotrain will probably sell out regardless, and it's not clear if somebody else is going to be doing the character anytime soon. If there are other companies doing it, sure, don't bother putting a preorder, but if not and it sells out, then well, if you can handle it that's fine, if not, it's just a preorder. Perhaps get it at TFSource. They always get things last so you'll know in advance if you don't like the colors  

 

Fish smell is a new problem I wasn’t expecting

 

I'm kinda amazed Blurr seems so unliked in general I know his character is a bit annoying to a lot of people but I always found him one of the cooler 86 designs, plus having a speedster character is interesting. As for Jabber, while I am disappointed in the color its not a deal breaker.

 

Haha, for my money, that's the one shot where it looks definitively purple to me, which is not what I see in hand! This definitely seems to be a case of blue and black / white and gold dress...

Oh, and to answer someone else's question: I've transformed it to vehicle mode and back one, no cracks, and no stress marks that I can see. I can definitely see how it could happen though, that part has to be forced around another part in an uncomfortable way to get into vehicle mode. But the good (?) news is that even if it does outright break, it would still hold together in both modes - he'd just become a bit of a partsformer.  

[EDIT] Oh, and as with the poster below, mine can hold the target master without issue.

 

Shoulders on mine are tight. Can hold the target master each arm without drooping.

 

Fanstoys is like pizza, even a bad one is still pretty good!

 

Do we all see the same colours?

Pretty basic article about how colors can look different to different people. May be appropriate here.

 

Old FT, new FT, blurple or blue.....this guy is beautiful, just beautiful, wrong colour and all, the sculpt is that good. It really, really, really hurts my soul I'll have to pass him but I simply have no time for shelf queens these days. It's one thing to have garbage transformations like Old FT/MP-44 but it's another to have figures break on you mid-transformation XTB style. So sad because the sculpt, that incredible face sculpt won't be toppled by anyone except TT who'll probably be charging 300 pounds for minibots by the time they get around to this guy, such a shame!

  

It seems pretty darn blue to me in all these pictures, to be brutally frank, although darker than it's supposed to be!

I actually recommend to take a color blind test. Everyone should go to the eye Dr once a year. I do cause I wear glasses when I work or watch TV. Just had my test done and still have perfect color vision at 40.

True, however I've never heard anyone claim the original toy or toon was purple so it seems like a misstep for FT to choose a color close enough to the border of Blue/Purple to be misinterpreted. If we can all agree that the original was some shade of blue, purple never should have entered the discussion.

Edit: Just playing devils advocate, he looks great, purple and all!
