Okay, I'm just about the quickest person to point out FTs flaws (because people put them on a pedestal and give them major passes way too quickly) but is this thread really necessary?

My forager's legs broke during their first transformation from bot to insect. Haven't messed with it since. Koot looks good to me.

is it bad that I kind of want at least one really bad release from them so at least 1 product from them ends up on sale because of how bad qc is? idk, some of it is a bit much for what ya get. (also I feel that the top tier company with only inflating prices isn't sustainable, so eventually, it will collapse)

Dude, I have to defend Spindrift--he is just getting more hate than he deserves. I absolute adore that figure. And it's definitely one of the cleanest in both forms AND transformation. He's an absolutely solid toy.

I get it, though. Everyone wants the fat dude. And FT's doing a 2.0, and that probably rubs people the wrong way. And yes, way too many people simply display their figures and never touch them again (that's a personal opinion), so him not looking the part can be even worse for a lot of you. I can understand people not liking him. But, is he really worth that much detestation?

I mean, really. The guy decides to take care of himself, cut back on the raw energon, and really looks great after all that work and dedication to becoming a better "him,"...and no love sent his way for his efforts. That's so sad...

Yeah, there's really nothing wrong with Spindrift as a figure. Not the best representation of the character but the product is solid and the transformation isn't terrible either. For FT, that's nowhere near their worst effort.

Fanstoys is not without flaws on many figures to the point that I am convinced some people are more biased than they'd like to admit because, for the most part, the figures do present really well with shiney paint and more often than not, have really great sculpts.

That said, I've noticed issues with both engineering, paint, and plastic breaks. I love my Dracula but I am done with the neck and trying to get it to swivel just using the headmaster. It catches and gives me trouble even when using a tool to rotate it. Also the spring in one of the wings was too strong and cracked the hinge.
Lupus I love, but the cockpit in vehicle mode has that locking issue as well as slightly annoying limitations to poseability, and I feel that's a big issue for a modern 3p figure of that size and cost.
Koot has a tricky transformation where you do seem to have to bend/force pieces around pieces, and that always makes for a more cruddy play experience where it feels the figure is under engineered and has flaws that will eventually lead to breakage over time.
Rouge has already been covered by others.
More than a few Quietus had scratching issues and actual breakages at the arms.
So far just Sovereign and grenadier(?) have been pretty much perfect for me (which is commendable for sure).

That's all I feel I can comment on, but certain other figures look very bland such as jabber and even Lupus suffers from this a bit, even Dracula. Spindrift looks really boring to me but that is probably just because the character never really interested me.
Oh and apparently the dinobots were almost all well received if I read the overall feedback correctly.

I totally agree. I'm quite happy with my Spindrift. I think with him it all comes down to so many people wanting everything to look like the toon. I'm not so hardcore on the toon look. Now had I bought 2.0 or XTB's first I'd likely be just as happy. Spindrift V1 is not a bad toy by any means in my book.

Dracula is actually probably my favorite figure I own (a lot of nostalgia there mind you) That said, You're right, he's not without flaws. I wish the wings had a bit more articulation and some extra paint apps woulda been nice. No breaks or anything though. I put some reprolabels on mine and they work for me detail wise even though paint would of course be more welcome.

Agreed about Dracula and that is why I actually bought a second hoping the neck problem won't reappear, along with a perfect wing. I am not settling for a flawed version of this figure in my collection.
Yeah I might spring for those reprolabels. I don't like some decals but others would help bring the figure alive for sure. I loved the character from the very start, along with Apeface.

I suppose your username says it all ;)  the stickers help for sure, they even give you a couple different options for a few spots. My only gripe with Repro Labels is that they can be damn expensive, especially when they start adding up cuz you just need those G1 details. Best to wait for a sale.

Agreed. Very solid figure imho... moreso in many ways than XTB. The large die cast feet in bot mode really stabilized him and allow him to get lots of cool poses. Not as G1 accurate maybe, but a very solid bot and far away from FTs worst ever.

I only owned Tesla and Forager prior to dropping the MP line altogether and I think Tesla got a lot more shit. However, I didnt transform Forager at all for a whole year and when I finally did, I found it to be far less stressful than people made it out to be. I went with Tesla though. It was a boring figure for a boring character no one really cares about.

Tesla. Butt ugly face sculpt, poor plastic quality, proportions are off.

Runner up would be Hoodlum due to the collar design and paint scratching issues.

I'd also like to nominate Willis. Not sure about everyone else's copy, but after transforming mine his ankles became floppy and I could never fix it.

I have no tolerance for figures that tear themselves apart due to transformation.

None, I can only speak for myself but imo, some are better than others but not a single one is "reviled" by me.

I know Tesla is the easy choice, but for me it's Rouge. Can't stand her face. It wigs me out.

FT-00H ReviLOW (Not Masterpiece Reviled) H stands for Hatred edition repaint that has no paint.

I like Tesla but I'm afraid to touch the thing because of all the cracks in the plastic in mine. Just a bad choice of plastic type for construction.
