Wow, Feige is basically in charge of publishing now, too: Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige dd Chief Creative Officer Title – Deadline

 

As long as this doesn’t mean we’ll be going back towards the time Marvel tried to make their comics tie-in or relate with whatever the MCU is doing, then I’m fine with it. This could bring in some interesting new changes for the company.

So, I went through and re-read HoX and PoX and some of the characterization bothers me. A lot of the characters aren't acting like themselves or have seemingly reverted to previous versions of themselves. I've come to the conclusion that a) this isn't happening in the 616 and it's another alternate timeline that will be used as a catalyst to kick start something in the 616 universe later or b) that when Xavier revives them he only gives them back the parts of themselves that make them useful and loyal to his cause.

 

That’s been pointed out constantly, and I believe it’s something that will get revealed by the end. But it might take years at the most.

Some House/Powers of X Inconsistencies Are Stories to Be Told, Hickman Says

 

X-Men number one is out. Picked it up at a midnight release.

Certainly sets up some interesting concepts. I hate Vulcan's new characterization though, and how he of all people gets no exploration as to why he's there.

 

Eh, you could make the same case for Proteus, and a few other characters, but really, way too many characters are acting a bit off. All of this really makes me think the 616 is the 11th life.

Well, I'm not totally against that, but the importance has to be the execution. It got really ridiculous when guys like Bendis were trotting out Thanos every couple of months for the Avengers or Guardians to beat up on just to show how *serious* things were. Feige probably won't be micromanaging the comics, but I'm hoping he can get the publishing division to plan out things long term, and get creators to tell the best stories, because in the long run, that's also where the film and animation division are going to be getting inspiration from.

 

Yeah, I have some questions. But I think folks will need to now get used to the idea that things will move slowly for a while with some occasional bombshells. Hickman tends to have a strong opening arc, some time spent moving various pieces into place, then a "Bang!" moment where there's a bombshell, then back to moving pieces, then another Bang, etc. So after HoX/PoX, I was prepared for a good year of pieces moving or so, with maybe a big revelation next summer.

 

So Marvel just recently announced Omnibuses for both Morbius and Cloak and Dagger!        

The Morbius one is going to include all of his appearances and run from the 70s while the C&D one will be all of their adventures from the 80s.

So, I had no idea that Cyclops (and every other Summers) dad was a hero.

Also had no idea that Vulcan has not been seen since War of Kings. And I’m pretty sure that one alien girl was flirting with Rachel.

 

So I guess Scott and Logan are fucking. It took us 40 years but here we are.

 

So I know I am a week behind, but I finally read Powers of X #6 today, and it made me have a bit of a revelation. Are Xavier/Magneto/Moira pulling the same thing the Aschen did in the Stargate SG-1 episode "2010"? I'm referring to the vaccines they offered humanity at the beginning of the story, which seemed not a big deal at first, but now I wonder. It would make sense after this issue, but damn, if so, that is cold as hell, even for this version of Xavier :/

 

As much as that's what it looks like, this weird polyamory, I certainly hope not. It makes no sense for any of the characters involved, even Emma- insinuated as she is. And she's a sex pot left and right. It's just nonsensical character writing.

Their father Corsair is one of the Starjammers. Been around a few decades but never really relevant unless the stories take place in space. They get along fine without him. And the alien girl is Hepzibah. Corsair's pet in both the "she's a kitten cat" and the "she's his sex kitten" senses. So... I hope she isn't flirting with Rachel. But at this point? Who knows, man.

Honestly I think people are what they want here. Just like all it took for the Emma-Jean-Scott three way nonsense to start was some "side eye". Ugh.

 

I doubt they'll show or say it explicitly, but with Scott waxing on about he's going to live his life enjoying what he wants with the people he loves free of all inhibitions and then Logan being the only non-Summers in the House of Summers and having a conjoined bedroom with Scott and Jean... it's not very subtle.

I'm all for it if it ends the tired Scott/Jean/Logan love traingle forever. If Scott and Jean can just be married with Logan as a shared sex buddy and that can be the end of it, fine... as long as there's no more drama.

Have you read the latest issue? It's not subtle... and I was one of the people saying others were reading too much in to the beer scene.

 

No. Just seen everyone talking about it. I haven't had a chance to read the issue yet, but if it's as you're describing I think I'll be dropping the title and I'll pick it back up on the next relaunch. I'm not interested in weird polyamorous bullshit in my comics.
