Not in the mood for Milliputting tonight though, just a greasing of gears to get things back in motion.

I mean, a mini-version of himself undermines your own argument, Bobby. ;)
Who more often makes in his own image?

Got these two lads today from our very own @SgtLemon , along with a nogginless Brainstorm from @we_are_forest . Picked up a couple of Series 3 BotBots at The Asda - the Piano one and the Rubber Duck! I think I only need the Keytar one and I’ve got all the ones I want! :D

I should clarify - it does have the regular Prime head but the unarmoured form is a halfway house which definitely doesn't satisfy. I do like the rest of it though, even the choice of using Omega Primes's head instead of the Super mode head, though these stylistic choices are definitely gonna be divisive.

Very nice Impactor review @barry.Hopefully Hasbro will get around to giving us Xaaron and Flame figure now!

MP Road Rage is a gorgeous figure. I'm glad that I picked her up over Tracks and Load Pedal.

You can tell there’s not going to be a Bumblebee in WFC. He doesn’t have 5mm ports drawn on his body.

I was going to let this one slide, especially after @CZ Hazard 's lovely reply, however reflecting upon it, it is not the first time I have seen this particular acronym rear its potentially ugly and untruthful head in this thread. I have previously found your contributions pleasant to read, but this particular one less so. As such, I would ask you to clarify your meaning Sir. I assume that I have misconstrued your intent, and if so, I duly apologise, however for the sake of clarity, may I ask what exactly this means to you?

Well, as you’re doubtless aware it stands for all coppers are bastards and was posted in a somewhat sardonic response to the post by @CZ Hazard observing that a cop car was the good guy in 1984 and the bad guy in 2007.

if you’re asking me for my opinion on the police, that’s a different question.

And I'd advise you are better doing so, as this is not the forum to discuss the subtle nuances of law, order, and one's attitudes to such, seeing as at least it strays into the political, personal small "p" political but political nonetheless, and at worst will descend into a grudge match of fundamentally opposing views that won't change anyone's mind.

In that case, my sincerest apologies for misinterpreting your intent. Althought I am sure that it is apparent how, without further context, that that particular acronym might be misconstrued (as it has been by me). This is a lovely thread, and one that is my little escape from crappy normal life, and I was a tad peeved when I erroneously believed it was being used for the resurgence of a slur from the past that should remain there.

A valid point, and my apologies, I only read this after my most recent reply. My riposte however is that this thread seems to promote decency and tolerance in a wider forum of considerable turbulence, and upon (wrongly interpreting as it transpires) reading a particular post, I felt obliged to respond in what I felt to be a respectful but contradictory manner. I sincerely hope that this has all been resolved now, and fully accept that it was my misjudged response that perpetuated this aspect of the thread. Apologies to all, particularly @barry and please lets get back to the robots!

The phantom menace is a decent film.

Qui gon jin cheats and uses the force to help anikan win the podrace, just like he cheated on the bet with watto.

Palpatine screwed his homeworld, bullied the trade federation into being bad guys, all to trick amadala into making a vote of no confidence and generate a situation of sympathy so he would get voted in. The entire movie is nothing more than a palpatine power play, done legally, and from the shadow. No wonder i wasn't keen on this movie before, my child brain was too young to grasp the truth of the story. Well done Mr Lucas, well done.

The political machinations in the first two films are very well done, to the point where Palpatine is often the best realised character with a real arc, and a few steps above the other actors in terms of quality. Still, I have no idea what motivates him after 42 years.

Decent film? Dunno man. That feels like a stretch. It's a bit old hat to rag on that film, and its refreshing to see someone enjoy it, so I'm not going to do it here. I always felt it has less problems than the 2nd and 3rd film in the franchise though. Generally I feel Lucas is a poor director and desperately needs a co-writer, having read his earliest draft for A New Hope and going by the comments from Spielberg et al before his wife helped fix the film. Brilliant ideas man, and a master of marketing. I still have no idea how I knew te Emporer was called Palpatine or how everyone knew what an Ewok was, despite neither being directly named in the movies.

Moviebob's deconstruction of SW as a quirky indie arthouse movie is recommended viewing.

Plotwise, the Revenge of the Sith is actually a great story. Betrayal, love, duty, high ideals used to serve evil, massive space battles, amazing effects. All the ingredients are there. But it's a totally shit film. I used to blame Haydn Christiansen but as I have matured I spread the credit. I live in hope of a remake from a better director.

The making of documentary shows just how much work Hayden and Ewan put in to their lightsabre fights, shame the editing and post production chopped it to absolute pieces and boring visual effects that took all the drama out of it.

They're a bit of a guilty pleasure, those prequel films. I've no hesitation in saying that, by most objectives measures, they're bad films, but man...that doesn't mean I don't enjoy them. And it's the execution where it really falls down, because the concept and overarching plot is quite compelling. Good fodder for an adventure film? Enh, probably not, no. I guess I just wish they'd been done with more....well, I'm not sure if commitment is quite the word I'm looking for, but it's broad enough to serve my purpose.

Clone Wars cartoon series? Now we're talking.

"This is Impactor, leader of the Wreckers. In common with most being, he has good days, bad days, and indifferent days.
Welcome to one of his worst"
