It's real sad that Hasbro make such Hollow figures now that you have to buy Gap fillers

Eh. Transformers for whatever reason seem to always sacrifice one thing for another.

In the 80's, the toys had zero articulation. Some toys also suffered from Gold Plastic Syndrome and many had chronic yellowing issues. Also, hollowness was still an issue for some figures.

In the 90's, the Beast Wars figures managed to do away with a lot of hollowness, but then gave us ball joints that wore out really fast as well as shellformers like Break, my go to example of how the halcyon days of older Transformers figures is a myth:

And so on and so forth. Doesn't matter what Hasbro comes out with. Anything short of MP level at basic consumer line price is going to get someone complaining about something, including: 1) articulation; 2) materials quality; 3) paint apps; 4) transformation too complex; 5) transformation not complex enough; 6) poseability, which is different than articulation; 7) altmode accuracy; 8) bot-mode accuracy; 4) paint colors, which is different than paint apps, etc. etc.

Fillers (and connectors) for legs and back. Legs come in 2 options: yellow and gray.

The gap fillers are great but what's up with the connectors? The photos don't seem to show what they are/do.

The Weibo post reads something like

"The Thunder Rescue Team* is unstoppable!
The Thunder Rescue Team captain from the comics, Impactor, debuts in the War for Cybertron: Siege series!
In order to make this fierce and overbearing character more perfect the studio is launching the YYW-03 accessory kit
Comic color/box color waist and leg filler, perfect solution, perfect fit, no extra padding required!
There are also general accessories available for Impactor to realize the play of Daiclone!
Currently 115 Model Play workshop** is selling hot!"

*"Thunder Rescue Team" is the Chinese name for the Wreckers.
**This last bit is confusing. 115 Mo Wan (Mo Wan translating to something like Model Play or Mold [as it the kind you inject plastic into to make toys, not the stuff that refuses to grow on McDonalds food] Play) seems to be the company name. The YYW in the model number probably means "Yi Yi Wu (One One Five). I think they're saying that this kit is a hot new item on sale now from 115 Mo Wan's workshop or store.

The comments in the post are just commenting a preference for the yellow fillers.

So it doesn't really help explain what all the round bits are for.

Those fillers might look good in purple. It's too much unbroken color with the yellow ones, but the silver is not doing it for me. But picking from these options, yellow all the way.

I really like the Tom Heada set much better. You have to paint yourself, but the surface details flow much better.

I guess I'm a little confused by all of the pictures...do the gap fillers kind of stick out or do they sink in?...because I prefer if they sink in a little like the ones posted by Oniconvoy above.
    carry on...

The gray on the box art is to emphasize the toy's hollow limbs. :p

I need to get my Impactor first before deciding on the fillers.

But leaning towards No though maybe? In hand the hollow probably isn't that bad? Its a tiny toy somewhat, and it's mostly everyone's close up photos that make it look noticeable / bad. o_O

Tim Heada has nicer sculpts, but the fact this set is finished is a huge plus. I got his Megatron arm fillers, and love the design, but learned I do not roll with garage kits.

First off it shipped on the sprue. Fair enough for a garage kit, but this sprue connected to the shapes that did all the connecting to Meg's arms, instead of a less vital surface that was easily cleaned up; like literally anywhere else. So I had to be extra careful trimming them off, but hey, at least those much more accessible outer plates were nice and clean.

The worst part is the material he uses is stark white. It feels like good quality stuff, but now I have to find a decent grey and paint it, and then probably clean up the joints because it's a tight fit unpainted. If the unfinished material was at least grey, I probably would've ordered more of his stuff long ago.
