Hasbro isn't actively screwing us over and you're not a shill for understanding why the hands are grey. I just didn't think it was right to boil it down to the "if you don't like blue hands, don't buy it" argument and the constant debates that become an "I'm right, you're wrong, fight me" posts that become tirades that even the own people guilty of derailing threads, complain about others doing the same thing.

For example this is an Earthrise thread not "____this member____ VS ____this other member____ FIGHT!". I cannot tell you how many times I have seen threads become that where the topic at hand isn't even discussed anymore, instead it's just member VS member.

At the end of the day we are all fans. Hasbro makes changes at times for the better and I hope they make the hands blue.

 

I find it kinda funny while all this talk about blue hands and the supposedly cartoon accuracy Earthrise is supposed to take on, Prime’s eyes are the wrong color  I mean, all the Autobots revealed so far have took accurate blue eyes.

 

All this arguing about blue arms hands makes me worried someone is going to mace poor John over it.

 

I'm really happy that we're finally getting a G1-style Optimus with yellow eyes. I prefer the comic/toy look.

 

I would've preferred if they went all the way with their homages. For example since we are getting yellow eyes, a darker indigo blue and silver or chromed legs would've furthered the toy homage.

 

On one hand (pun IS intended), I understand the need to do molds a certain way.

On the other hand, this is Optimus Prime. There will be NO problems in selling this figure and recoup costs.

 

Just do a new Pepsi Prime repaint later with a blue trailer.

Hell I'd actually probably buy that over normal Optimus since the original Pepsi one is the one I had as a kid.

At the end of the day I hope Hasbro heard us and will make the right decision in the future. Perhaps they weren't aware how important the Blue hands are. I think for most of us, its its mainly because the figure is so impressive why mar it with something so simple. If this were a reinterpretation of Prime, then Im sure we wouldnt care so much. But this one is knocking on Masterpiece's door. Kinda saying if you want all these features and correctly colored hands then pay us $450 more, otherwise you get gray hands.

 

I'm sure they're aware of it, since Warden was even up front about the change and the reasons behind it. Of course understanding the reasons behind the change really don't automatically mean it's acceptable to all of the fans, so hopefully they can be aware of that, too.

 

In anticipation for Earthrise, on a whim I decided to start watching “More Than Meets the Eye.” It’s been a few years since I’ve watched it and less than ten minutes in I had a thought I don’t ever recall thinking before. How in the hell, in the FOUR MILLION YEARS after the Ark crashed on Earth, did no one see a giant spaceship jutting out of the side of a volcano? Did no one go sight-seeing, hiking, camping, etc. near Mt. St. Hilary in all that time? I mean the Decepticons come across signs of civilization almost immediately with that power station Rumble destroys. Don’t know why I never noticed before, but that seems like a major plot hole. Anyway, just trying to distract from the ‘gray hands’ debacle. Kindly carry on!

 

Wasnt there something about a recent eruption or some such? I remember the idea being that it was fully buried until just recently.

 

It’s kind of ambiguous. When rewatching it, there is the volcano eruption four million years later that “wakes up” Teletraan-1, but it doesn’t specify whether or not the eruption uncovered the Ark or if it was just always sticking halfway out of the base of the mountain. To me it leans more toward the latter possibility because of the Ark’s position relative to the eruption, but that’s just my opinion.

 

So is it confirmed this new Prime is being made with grey hands? I tried backtracking a bit in this thread, but could'nt find an answer.

I know right... but I'm not gonna front I cancelled my pre-order because of this. Look not my proudest moment, don't judge me.

 

All I'm gonna say is "Come on Christmas, i need to finish Seige TF'S". I need a few more figures so i can start Earthrise in January 2020". I'm really trying to get caught up in Seige figures. So maybe at this point, i might be looking at Jan if not Feb till I'm done with Seige. Im really hoping that won't be the case and I'm able to finish but i dunno. Does anyone feel they are in the same boat as me in Seige figures. I'm really excited about Earthrise as I'm really digging what is going to come out before May of next year. I'm really excited about getting a Grapple figure and you know it'll be Inferno too. That Optimus Prime is awesome and i want it. The Earthrise Tf's figures that was shown at NYCC,.... i just don't think there was a bad figure in the bunch at all.
