You think? I'd assume there was a bigger aftermarket for Jabba's barge than there will be for Unicron just based on the fact that Star Wars is a massive phenomenon, but that's just me.

Since there isn't a single thing to talk about anymore until we see actual brand new information, photos and videos on it. yay!

There is. It also came completely out of the blue, and didn't have anywhere near the international exposure/avenues that Unicron had, which is a big part of why it's held it's value.

 

Correct. But I dont think people bought the barge with intention to sell because they were hesitant. But people see now how things work with Haslab projects and how price went up, there is likely more people hoping the same for Unicron.

 

I don't doubt that there are folks "hoping the same for Unicron." The question is whether or not those hopes will pan out. They may well find themselves frustrated.

 

There were people buying extra barges to re-sell on all the Star Wars fan boards that I frequent. Especially when it stalled.

For what it's worth, back when I was considering ordering one from BBTS I point blank asked them if I would need to go through them or Hasbro if I had any QC issues.

Why, what IS there beyond Ebay? I mean, where we can follow sale numbers. Amazon removes sold listings so you have no way to check what really sold for how much. And what other big auction site exists?

 

Maybe lowering further the backpack would have caused clearance problems for the stand and/or the waist swivel.

 

So much talk about the dangers of hobbyist buyers wanting to be resellers, and yet, I imagine the amount of non-professional retail people - who did buy more than one Unicron- account for a small portion of the actual crowdfund.

I think a fun question may be, how many TFW who are contributing to this conversation actually bought a Unicron as a hobbyist to resell? How many of us have an actual stake in reselling?

Personally, I bought one. It crosses my mind to buy 2, but I woulda kept both. I do think it would be an interesting endeavor in the TF hobby to try to sell a Unicron, just like photography, doing reviews, or mods. So more power to those looking to resell, and good hunting!

 

Well said! Happens all the time in lots and no solid numbers means hasbro is probably still selling to retailers or giving them a opportunity to finish their orders first.

 

I was just looking at EBay and noticed there are 2 listing already for Unicron. One with a starting bid for 800 and then I saw this one with a huge BIN.

So...the counter in the code of the Unicron Haslab page has dipped a bit to 139.8125%, which works out to 11185 units. While it has gone down a bit, that's still an impressive tally.



Hopefully the Haslab and TF team will release the first "production" update soon!

 

I briefly considered reporting the item, for violation of eBay presale rules. Then I decided it really isn't my business, and if someone really wants to finance thru PayPal Credit, who am I to take that option away?

 

I could be wrong, but I don't see this being a big seller on the secondary market. The funding campaign lingered around for so long that many folks ultimately jumped off the sidelines and purchased one. Again, I could be wrong, but those who got this as an investment will probably be disappointed.
