To all the people saying they 'screwed up the head', it's painfully evident that they clearly recreated the head 1:1 based on the CGI Model. Why would they recreate every other model 1:1 and not this one? If you look at the glowing eyes in a dark room it will most likely look like his entire visor is glowing, and besides, more detail is better than less detail.

These are high-end statues that few people will have the privilege of owning, they went to the effort of molding detail behind his visor rather than just giving him a flat red panel. I can almost guarantee you that the final film model had separate eyes too, we just didn't see them. You can even sort of make out light coming from two optics on the bloody character model itself. :lolol

You can clearly make out two glowing eyes behind his visor.

    First of all.

I don't really see what ”bionic engineering B.E.A.M. bots, locomotion, biomechanics” has to do with alien robots from on an action movie based on a toy line and cartoon from the 1980s.

Sure, if you want to get technical, then yeah, I guess you could say that the Bayformwrs are more ”realistic” because they are more detailed and such.

But machinery such as cars, fighter Jets, tanks and such, while being very complex machines, still go for a mostly streamlined design, without any unnecessary, or vulnerable, machinery showing through.

This, more compact, design is something that is utilized in the Bumblebee movies robot designs.

It's clear, just by looking at the designs, that they are very detailed and complex.

But instead of showing all that mechanical detail, they instead hide it behind thick and robust armor plating.

Making for a much smoother and more compact design.

    And regardless.

    As I said.

Transformers are fantastical alien robots from another planet, based on a cartoon and toy line from the 1980’s.

Realism has, and should, take a backseat to properly and accurately portraying the characters.

This, among other things, means that their ”live action” designs should reflect their original designs in a lot of ways. .it doesn't have to be exactly the same.
But it should be recognizable, both to longtime fans of the franchise and casual viewers/ moviegoers.

I mean, why do you think characters Iron Man, Spider-Man, the Ninja Turtles, and so on, have looked virtually the same throughout their on-screen appearances?

Because not only are their designs, iconic, but they are also recognizable, even to those who aren't hardcore fans.

The designs are a part of what's made the characters popular in the first place.

Some changes are good, but deviate too much from what's been established and you start to alienate your audience.

Ugh. Already didn't like the Soundwave head from this movie, but seeing it in grey and up close, it really looks so much worse. What even is going on with that crest?

Less transparent visor and less bright eye lights and it'd look much closer to this one movie scene. There's a tech detail and a pair of optics behind the visor in the movie... But the statue makes it a smidge too pronounced.

Love the aesthetic but feel that the proportions are "off".

Somehow I’m not surprised that the “Well this superhero has looked the same for decades” talking point popped up. Unlike Iron Man and Spider-Man, the designs of the robots have been through numerous iterations. We’re talking about a brand where, at one point, the robots turned into beasts (I realise BW wasn’t really loved that much when it first aired, but much like the Star Wars prequels, it’s become more accepted and even loved over time). Transformers is nearly 4 decades old and is rich with various universes, continuities, and character designs. I will never understand why there is this belief that the brand should be beholden to just one certain look.

Gonna be brutally honest. Since most G1 fans pretty much crap on anything that isn’t G1, it’s obvious that it’s pretty easy to alienate them.

Is it just me or is this ravage weirdly reminiscent of Laserbeak?

Do I spy an Ironhide bust there in the last pic, between Prime and Bumblebee? Seems like an affordable \'in\' if so. Also, Swamp Thing at the very end!

Oh yeah all those machines do not have human faces and do not look cartoony as transformers do in cartoons

You do realize these movies are not made for old fans and little kids these are made casual moviegoers get out of box talk to new transformer fans they will tell you they transformer movies they do not look cartoony they have realism to them unlike cartoons you do that and g1 transformer looking bots will make you look bad to these new fans that end up like transformers because of bay version that look more realistic, not cartoony at all movies are made for realism if there is no realism in transformers movies stick with stupid cartoons where humans never die me I want to see human deaths in transformers movies and see more realistic transformers in long time fan been with site for years my aunt who like transformers thanks to BAY if she talk to you with your cartoon g1 crap she will not listen to you that is cartoon logic she don’t watch cartoons she watches live action movies Rambo is realistic dolphin tail is all real that’s based on true story of that movie that’s realistic, same with Pearl Harbor movies that’s realistic movies that are not realistic frozen, cars, planes, those are cartoons not live action movies

Bay transformers are good they are more realistic looking less cartoony looking such as Optimus in truck mode in bumblebee movie who here saw real semi truck that is all red driving on road I have not and never will prime look very cartoony in that scene that is problem with new fans of transformers they do not watch cartoons, do not read comics they know and like and got into transformers from bay and both of his sequels got back to back billion two no three things be proud of bay transformers movies.

Bay took people who never like transformers and those people say to us fans are you to old buying transformer toys but thanks to bay he made transformers popular all over again, and took those new fans who mocked us adults for buying toys and turned them into fans, and two of his sequels made billion dollar mark now if older fans on this site which will never happen but if they try something new talk to new fans why they like transformers they will tell you it is not cartoon looking for them will not hurt you try it

Ha yeah sad and true this member gets comment of the year for movie transformers movie designs look and read comments of movies we got look at galvatron truck mode before he was named everyone right away oh oh oh it’s motormaster and faces of transformers in bay versions not looking human enough in face giant alien robots from another planet never had contact with humans until earth have human faces did aliens in alien 3 have human faces, did predators in predator 2 have human faces, did aliens from movie abyss have human faces, NO not all aliens have and need have human faces especially transformers that’s all in g1 era

    On screen appearances, he said.

The MK1 was a prototype so, it doesn't apply, here.

    The silver ”prototype”

version has been represented on screen, in Iron Man 1, before switching to the more recognizable red and gold suit.

Looks incredible, which is to be expected from Prime 1.

Basically the ideal movie form for the character.
