Now then. I am 40 years old and have been loving Transformer toys since their incarnation. I hope to share with all of you some of the treasures I have acquired over 3+ decades of collecting, and maybe do a little reminiscing. Just to give you a heads up, I own no prototypes and Minelba is currently the only AFA toy I have graded. It’s expensive to do so. But I hope, with help from the community in choosing, to send in a piece every couple months for evaluation.

    There is a real attic.

AFA is costly. I have the paperwork filled out on my MP Bumblebee but waiting to send it in.

That’s a toy I would like to own, missed out on him. That’s around the time import prices jumped and there was a plethora of different merchandise available.

BotCon ‘95 was the first convention I attended. I was on a mission, fill in the holes in my USA collection. One of which was to find a MISB Rodimus Prime. To no avail, not one in the dealer room. However, I did purchase a sealed Japanese release from two fellows who then used all the money they made to buy up all the prototypes at the charity auction, comprised of GoBot cars and one ATB Megatron.

Bluestreak was my last purchase at the show. It was a package deal along with Hound, Skids, and Trailbreaker.

7362D30C-55F8-4F29-AE82-037BEA970AEF.jpeg Strangely, no one else bid on these on eBay so I won them with an opening bid of .99 + $11 shipping from Japan. It’s now been 2 years since I closed my eBay account. When I discovered the app for my phone it became all consuming. Now if I could just shake off one last vice...smoking.

4F46D5A1-3FFA-4C33-A1F4-6DEFCF452B9C.jpeg Traded a SDCC Nemesis Prime for these. If anybody knows the year they were made and what series, please drop a line. I know nothing about Kabaya gum kits.

Hi what grades did your Minerva get? I own a MISB AFA 80 one. Yours is the 2nd one I've seen graded all others have been opened.

    This should help
    Transformers Gum - Transformers Wiki

I'd say Streetwise is 1986, and Prime 1985.

Awesome! Yours must be the one that shows up in AFA’s population report. Mine does not yet. I received an overall 80+ with subgrades-
    Figure 85
    Window 85
    Box 80
You might want to consider sending yours back in for re-evaluation. I get the feeling yours was graded awhile ago, before the implementation of the + system.

Thank you for the Kabaya gum kits information.

Thanks that is uncanny my sub grades are the same, as you say the AFA is expensive and I'm happy with the toy just being protected. I guess our 2 are the only graded ones in the world.
Are there any other MISB Takara Transformers you are looking for? I'd love to have the Goodbye Megatron giftset MISB.

Hello everyone. It’s been awhile. The problem I have is that I own 1500 sq ft of toys and it’s crammed into an 800 sq ft attic. To post a picture requires a lot of digging for the item, making a colossal mess that then takes hours to tidy up. But anyways, the purpose of this post is to get feedback on the next TF I should have AFA graded. The choices are Scorponok or Targetmaster Hot Rod. I will post pictures of the toys once I get motivated to move all the stuff that’s blocking them, for now please vote!

uh oh, Scorponok may be double taped from the factory for qc. Have not brought him out into the light for 20 years. Same goes for Hot Rod. I’m going a bit insane now, excuse me while I head up to the attic.
