I'm just going to slap a toyhax symbol on top of it.

 

A while back, someone managed to remove the current symbol, using an eraser? Can't quite remember.

I do wish the KO makers would repaint things though - as I think a Red MP Sunstreaker repaint would be quite welcome to have.

A red Diaclone repaint would make sense like Badcube did. I hope it becomes a reality.

 

well we only recently (I think like 1-2 months back) got the target master hotrod ko, so its possible that they might eventually get to sunstreaker repaints/remolds.

 

I think if some of their moulds are taking a dip in sales they could try being creative with other colours - if you look up Lancia Stratos Racing Cars / Rally Cars you will see a bunch of interesting colours that existed (orange & Green for example) and there would certainly be some interest in something like a Masterpiece Slicer even only because it's a Decepticon and those are a bit thin on the ground in the MP line.
Blue (Binaltech style) Prowl might work too. or Silverstreak. let alone just random colours or ones based on Diaclone/Diakron. Ironhide in black or Ratchet in acid green being pretty obvious ones too - they don't even need to massively re-design the packaging just do it in Black and white Boxes similar to Loudpedal.

Heck loudpedal is a nice example of a "Black Repaint" and so doing that with Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, (Black Prowl would be interesting as Mexican Prowl or Barricade) Toyworld's Black Wheeljack deco could be borrowed too. I just think it would help them to do something like that, and not simply do what Takara does but pre-empt them instead.
I purchased the gold Sideswipe KO and I love him, so I was quite primed for more of that kinda thing, I was hoping it would be a yearly thing at least; to make such a repaint even if they were all the same gold and red deco offerings. It's not like there isn't even an excuse to release whatever you like in shiny gold or silver as unlike most lines that make a gold novelty version Transformers actually has story reasons for characters to be made in gold and silver - they do this with he vac metalised Optimus / Megatron / Grimlock - but those are sold with a warning in the box NOT to transform them. But there is always the way to make things simply moulded in colour or painted instead of coated. or use a combination of the two techniques like Takara's Golden Lagoon toys do.

I mean really if they simply reissued KO Ironhide and made one simple change like changing his red plastic to Blue plastic it wouldn't even be that hard to arrange. It's not like this kinda thing didn't used to exist there was a sea of such options when it came to repaints when the Alternator/Binaltech KO's were a thing.

 

It's amazing what a difference a year makes. Received my v1 on 11th October 2018...

Received a V2 today 14th October 2019. Hoping the robot mode is much improved from my v1 also

It holds together much better in Alt mode and you can see there's much fewer gaps in the back half. It's decent enough to keep in alt mode! The showoff / chrome mode is decent too. Haven't compared bot mode yet.

Paint still the same (mismatch of yellows). Looking closer at V2, in the picture it looks better?

 

No real mismatch in hand. The engine cover was the worse though on the V1. Still patchy around the windows on the v2 but hey, I'll take that over the bad yellow shades I had

I'd just like to know if the bot mode autobot insignia is straight with V2?

Aside from that, and my copy not coming with the default face. I didn't really have any other major issues with my V1.

I think the quality of the figure has nothing to do with the seller and more the batches. I was in a bit of doubt about which seller to use so I went for the cheapest and then read the user reviews. A number of times there were comments about the current version being better than the first release. So that's where I got the impression of batches. I doubt anyone has the original release anymore, to sell. Best to check with any seller though.

I don't have my V1 anymore. I sold it on. But, I can take pictures of my V2 box if anyone is after that?

Based on user comments from Taobao sellers, some have mentioned the faction being straighter. I haven't had a chance to check yet.
