Haha just a lil explanation of how my copy of mp-44’s knees somehow seemed to regenerate. @Xaxis suggested that maybe my mp ratchet came to life and fixed OP’s knees. :D

Sorry, didn’t notice you were the one with the self fixing knees and posting the pics at the same time! Cool that your knees are working again! Enjoy him!

Thank you, it's just black glass - not too reflective, but adds a nice touch.

Anyone else having issues with the vehicle mode having the grey pieces touching the ground? I haven’t transformed mine yet, just wanting to see if this is maybe just the plastic bits they installed prior to packing it causing the issue.

Good for your copy that the plastic returned back to its original setup.

Btw, just an fyi and related, my original 01 Convoy's shoulder ratchets eventually wear out due to loving and rough role playing the TF scenes. If you do a repair surgery, you'll all notice the jagged teeth rubbing against each other. MP-44 will eventually wear down so given how that joint was designed, we all just have to be cautious when handling him. But dang! Takara had to make him so Anime lifelike that

Honorable mention to those who have damaged ones out of the box (hope your supplier /source can replace them.)

Which ones? The shoulder's outward or rotation ratchet joint?

The original G1 #01 Convoy circa 1985. The "teeth" will eventually wear each other out. Just like all ratchets. They wear out was my point. Constant transforming increases the risk of paint chips and wear and tear. So we all must be careful. Yup, it's a $ 400+ product and all ( with some QC issues) and hopefully Takara creates a blend of paint that doesn't chip easily (unlikely because lead has been taken off the primary components of paint, is the primary ingredient that keeps paint shiny and bonds to the surface).

Lubrication should extend the service life of the ratchets by a huge amount, just like with any other mechanism.

Is WD-40 safe for ABS PVC plastics?

I use WD-40 on my PVC windows however not the regular WD-40. I use a WD-40 silicone lubricant. Regular WD-40 I believe is not really a lubricant but for removing water (Water Displacement)

Is that some photo filter? How are they so shiny? Great shot.

Was finally able to find time to get him back to truck and then back to bot mode for the 2nd time. My opinion on the transformation is swinging to the more favorable side, but I don't think I'll ever be truly happy with the transformation. But after playing with him in bot mode....amazing the poses he can do. I'm not as creative as all the others here, but I took pics as proof to myself that I actually did transform him. :p
