I’ve cleared a whole top shelf just for this guy so I can fully splay those wings out and show him off in all his space-hogging glory.

Finally got mine. Unfortunately, my right wing is a bit floppy and can't sustain the weight of itself on its own...but other than that I'm really impressed by the overall quality of the figure. Looking forward to Tigerhawk.

 

this may make a good rivalry for the time being.

Good god....this is ridiculously beautiful and ridiculously huge. Too tired to muck about with him, worried I'll chip the paint, but he looks bloody fantastic.

 

Just bought the last one in stock at tf-direct. I couldn't resist lol ..quite the pricey month now with this and haslab unicron.  

 

OK I do have a question...how the heck do I get the tail connected to the back of the head? Just brute force!! Is it just as tough as it was with PE's?

 

yes. it's very tough to put in. and none of the reviewers mentioned that.
here is what I did eventually. As shown in the pic, i put the ball joint part of the helmet against a soft table surface to avoid scratch. and then use one hand to push the tail into it along the big white arrow direction.

note that you will probably do it in bot mode and let him lay on his chest face down. in this pic mine is already in alt mode. but you get that idea how to position the helmet. you need to let the part pointed by the yellow arrow take all the pressure.

there is a risk that the blue arrow pointed parts break away a bit, but you can put it back on if it's not broken, hopefully.

just need to be cautious.

another tough part is to rotate those two back taps to lock the dragon neck, very very tight.

and there will be scratches here and there!!

 

Good idea. What i did in the end was blast the socket with a hairdryer on a medium heat for about 3 minutes. It expended the plastic enough to allow me to push the ball inside with less force. I have noticed a tiny chip on the edge of his 'crest' possibly from struggling with this for so long. Its no biggy but I totally see what people mean about the paint chipping issues.

 

My will power gave in and I ordered this beast from show.z just now. Last figure for the year so I should go out with a bang for collecting this year

Well I've had a little play, not transformed him yet, and man this guy blows the Perfect Effect suff out of the water for me. Those are great and really like the reimagined aspects of them but this is a total BEAST. It's huge MASSIVE and so hefty, the materials and hardware are out of this world, far above anything I've ever seem used in a Transformer official or otherwise. The deco is beautiful, the metallic colours are rich and deep...I just hope I can avoid chipping it. Id always thought the show models from season 2 and 3 were a bit too toy accurate and to be honest pretty goofy but this looks FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC. I felt a pang of regret that I hadn't pledged in the HasLabs Unicron campaign, in planet mode it would make an unparalleled centrepiece in any collection...but this guy fills that spot REALLY well at a fraction of the price.

 

decided to finally pick up this guy now before I regret it. I want to support this company so they continue the line and also would hate to pay aftermarket prices. This company is new so I don't want to gamble on how they handle stock and re-issues. At least with Fanstoys, you can count on at least 1-3 runs and even repaints lol

I’m really glad that there aren’t the all too common reports of QC with this guy. The creators really seem to have put everything into making Megatron a success. I hope they can maintain the same levels of commitment and maybe even aim to surpass themselves in future releases. Now that would be something to see.

This figure has taken awhile to come to fruition but all that development time has really paid off and I think it’s essential for producing something so refined.

Where did you order from to get yours to the U.K. so soon?
I’ve got a day off work tomorrow which could’ve been spent playing with my figure but I think Show Z only just shipped it out.

 

Any plans for a Rhinox? That would have a big demand with BW MP collectors.

 

As much as I'd like to have a Rhinox, I say: leave it to Takara to finish season 1 cast. JX keep focusing on season 3 cast: Tigerhawk, Optimal Optimus, Dinobot 2, TM Blackarachnia, Depth Charge and TM2 Cheetor. Then season 2, starting with TM Megatron.

 

I gotta say while I don't collect MP BW stuff. This thing is beautiful. Great size and looks terrific from what I've seen.
