My brother collects the cards and that's about it.

Aww, that's a shame. The card game is what got me into Pokémon originally (collecting rather than playing), and I stuck with it on and off since Gen 1....I did switch mainly to YuGiOh too for a bit in the early/mid 2000's, which wasn't a good move in hindsight because the rarest Pokémon cards from that period are worth £/$100's each now!

EDIT: In regards to Galarian Ponyta's inspiration, I came across this post online that makes complete sense (why I didn't remember about this tale, I'll never know?!):

This would also make sense with the typing - psychic > poison.

I got into Pokemon way back with Gen 1 during my later high school years, but probably because of age, the card game didn't have a pull for me. Thankfully I never stopped using my Game Boy at that time.

I mean, if people wanted to get together on Table Top Simulator and play a few games or something, I wouldn't mind. I just haven't played in forever and would likely suck.

Over a month to go and still no word on evolution for starters. And most of the new Pokemon are a bit disappointing to me.

I used to collect the cards. I still have them in a binder somewhere. I never learned how to actually play the game though.

i kickstarted the pokemon card fad at my elementary school in 4th grade. it was a mess, and the diamond/pearl sets dropped in the middle of the craze.

i remember there was one kid who just got his mom to buy all the rarest cards for him instead of trading like a real man. fuck you jeremy, you cheater.

i had a bigass stack of my most rare cards that i carried around with me everywhere and i cried whenever i dropped them and they got disorganized lol

    Pretty much.

I was expecting Fairy, but given Fairy's weakness to Poison, which Psychic counters, I'm OK with it. I do like that it doesn't look like a fully-grown horse - this way, Rapidash will be better distinguished from Ponyta, if it evolves into Rapidash at all.

So far, I'm liking all the Galarian forms and evolutions.

I still have all of my cards in a box and a binder somewhere. I only collected for a few years a few years ago, but I actually managed to get some vintage cards.

I use to collect the Pokémon cards for 2 years and then dumped it for Yu-Gi-Oh. I'm satisfied with my decision.

There’s a Galarian legend that Galarian Ponyta’s mane/tail is made of cotton candy. Shira was testing that legend to see if it was true.

What’s great about Pokémon is that you never know what you’ll catch that turns out to be an important part of your team.

I posted before that Blitzle’s stats were so low as to make it useless and nigh untrainable. I went through Chargestone Cave and tried to find a Tynamo like @Autoboticon suggested, but did not run into a single one the whole time.

I proceeded past the next town towards the Celestial Tower, and ran into a Zebstrika. I figured what the hell, I’m never going to evolve Blitzle anyway so I went ahead and caught it. Well...this thing is a total badass with some great stats :D
So I have my electric type, just not in the manner I expected.

Very much true. When I got Sun and made my way through, somehow Pelipper and Hariyama became a permanent part of my team. Still not entirely sure how that happened. :lol

As for trading cards, I collected when I was a kid for the original sets and the start of the Neo sets, got REALLY into it again for the Ruby and Sapphire set specifically, then nothing until the tail end of the B&W era where I've been collecting ever since. Right now there's a pretty awesome mini set called Hidden Fates that has like 80+ Shiny Pokémon cards. Pretty sure the full art Shiny Charizard is in the $300-400 range at the moment. PSA 10 ones have sold on ebay for prices as high as $1000. Needless to say, I'm praying I can just pull that one from a pack. :lol
