That's relevant but not entirely accurate. BBTS actually had at least a few more available after the crowdfund had ended. In fact, I think it was earlier this morning or last night that I saw the listing as available for preorder.

Now, whether that was them ordering a few more because they knew they would sell or someone canceling an order, I do not know.

Smurf, I will concede that it's entirely possible that the Unimposter could see production at some point. Hasbro may have only been flexing to keep a nuisance at bay while gathering support for one of its flagship projects. It's mostly inconsequential to me at this point. The official big boy is going into production, despite the cries of inadequacy, poor marketing, and shenanigans.

I suppose now we should just be happy that you're here to join us during this HISTORIC EVENT! :p

Earlier in this thread I posted pictures of recent sales of Jabba's Barge doing almost the exact opposite of your claims. Yes, I know, Star Wars fandom vs Transformers fandom and all of that, but both toys are in parallel situations considering their popularity and limited availability.

What was it that you majored in? Conjecture?

i posted them in here too a while back but i don't think unicron will sell for as much as the barge does but time will tell

did we get a final number on how many of these were backed yet ? i read on facebook that it was around the 10 to 11 thousand mark which is quite a lot if true

was there a final number of how many of the barges were backed too?

roughly 11,200 unicrons as of most recent estimates (based on about 141% backed) vs about 8,800 sail barges

The initial funding percentage shown for Unicron was at 282%. A few people dug around in the HTML coding and found a contradiction of half that, and the lower number is more likely true in my opinion. Thus, approximately:

    8K x 141% = 11,280 units

The Sail Barge was finalized at 176%, so...

    5K x 176% = 8,800 units

Armada Unicron was never given a proper Origin, not that he really needs one. (If there is a multiversal origin for Unicron. Then use that one) He just revealed himself one day that he had been hiding as one of cybertrons moons to feed off of the negative energy of the war biding his time till he could destroy cybertron outright.

The whole unicron trilogy never bothers with a proper origin with either Unicron or Primus other than they are old AF and hate eatch other.

Eh, I suspect Zeta's figure will happen. It looks good in bot mode and there's really nothing Hasbro can do to stop it except tell retailers they'd rather they not carry it. But, man, what a slippery slope that would develop into.

I think, aside from the Hasbro side of wanting to avoid excessive panel folding, the clear difference between Zeta and HasLab effort is the planet maw gimmick.

While it is one of the better selling points of HasLab's there was just no win for storing it in bot mode. It's a big old mechanism and requires space. Either it was going to be a backpack or it was going to be removable.

I think Hasbro made a choice I can live with. And it's certainly more neat than the Zeta alternative.

Isn’t this the guy who said He-Man is more popular than TFs while lecturing all of us about marketing?

Indeed. I'm starting to think that I should be pleased that he thinks the toy will have so little value in the future. After all, he's been practically dead wrong regarding everything else.

I\'ve never done this sort of croud funding BS in my life. I had no idea that the $500 or so dollars was for the actual unicorn at full price + postage. I would easly have bought this for that price, but thought we were funding a project for $500 that once approved, we paid $500 towards the final price which would be something like $1000. $500 is a steal, gutted that I missed out.

...How did you come to that conclusion about it? It was pretty clear on the Haslab site and through two whole months of discussion on this and other boards that the cost of the product through HasLab was $575+tax.
