Finally back to unicron. Not random bull or screwing around about how we should pity someone for being poor or something or housing stuff

Great! I've been wondering how tall his planet mode is with the stand included

i believe that the head shot is actually Wyatts design of what an Animated Unicron might look like, (not sure anymore, he deactivated his deviantart account a while back but i think that's where it originated) granted i know that doesn't actually make it "official" but it at least makes it slightly more legitimate than rando fanart, but the full body is actual fan art based off the headshot.

    Useful tip:

For those thinking about displaying your future Unicron on a glass shelf and you are wondering if the glass can handle his 30 lbs. , I have your answer. Simply Google “glass load chart” and you’ll find lots of sites with charts where you can enter the weight, size of the glass, and span of the support to find the maximum load capacity. Helpful hint; if you have tempered glass, it’s 4 times stronger than regular glass. I plugged in 36 inches wide, 24 inches deep, at 1/4 inch thick; and the capacity for regular glass is 30lbs. Exactly Unicron’s weight. Play around with the chart to figure out which shelf is good for you.

Anybody got any decent recommendations for shelving? I know some have already been posted, but I'm not digging though 1000 pages to find them.

What are the dimensions of planet mode? Need to measure where it can fit.

I think I’m going to put it in my baby’s hip seat at least once when I go out. I’m not insane... just a little weird.

People don't seem to understand what this is. It's not an "order" or anything else. It's nothing more than a stern letter from a lawyer stating "stop this or else!" It may even be more friendly, not a threat at all, "please stop, pretty please with sugar on top?"

And anyway, a C&D here has thus far been unsubstantiated hearsay, a nothingburger. The true if/when is completely unknown at this time. As is the case with HasLab Unicron, some want it to succeed, some want it to fail, some don't care either way.

I see your head-in-sand image, and raise you a head-up-butt image.

For 30 lbs, hard wood, not a long shelf, plenty of sturdy supports. I have a strong feeling we'll see lots of "my Unicron fell and broke" images on FB and TFW and elsewhere. And it'll be sad. Essentially think CRT TV stand or dresser. If you use thin wood or pressboard, it'll bow. If you use glass, it'll eventually crack and buckle. Heavy MDF would work, but again secure with proper supports, not some weenie little metal brackets. I may not be getting a Unicron, but I know furniture. You're essentially displaying a heavy bar bell, so plan accordingly. It's not just another bot for the shelf.

You can't honestly say He-Man, a franchise that had no cartoon since 2003, is less niche than Transformers, which had 6 live action movies, and a new toyline and new cartoons every few years? He-Man has a small dedicated fanbase that can support limited release toys bought directly from Mattel. When was the last time MOTU toys were sold at retail? No, MOTU is about as niche today as GI Joe.

Mods removed a bunch of our MOTU/etc posts, considered it too OT, so no point in trying to resurrect that conversation.

Again, the non-OT conversation was about resale, and the fact that a $500+ Unicron probably will not sell any better than other $500+ 80s characters. Some break even, some lose money, virtually none profit more than $100 or so afters shipping/fees. Super7 Snake Mountain was just 1 example that some folks wanted to harp on. The idea that some buyers have about buying an extra Unicron, and flipping at 2x+ pricing, will very likely not come to fruition. Toys are not an investment. If you want to invest, buy stocks/funds/bonds. Not Unicrons.

What was Armada Unicron's origin? I mean he never even talked. I know he was trapped in the moon, and the Mini-Cons were his cells, but how did he come to be?

I noticed the ONLY person liking your posts is lordsmurf. Are you his alt-account,hmmm? ;)

not that I collect to sell (never have but sure do love getting those rare and/or out of production treasures) however I find what you said interesting and have to ask, are you referring to ORIGINAL and LIMITED EDITION REISSUE/REPAINT G1 figures when you say 80s....? and correct me if I am interpreting what you are saying wrong but, you're saying $500.00 + figures, in this case G1 (80s related) don't sell well on ebay, conventions, etc?

Someone commented about BBTS being out of stock with the Haslab Unicron. I did a little digging and some TCP and TF Source are out of stock too.
