Man, nothing I would have LOVED more than Starscream that turns into an Earth fighter jet but I'm seriously thinking of sticking with WFC.

 

It’s better to have more options, more mobility but I would never pose a Seeker like that.

As an aside, holy shit that face sculpt is truly awful. That mouth looks like a child sculpted it on. (and yes, I know that's technically Thundercracker's face)

 

I will have Starscream and Optimus I own cybertronian modes just preordered 35 Anniversary Megs disney I don\'t have him yet, was going to purchase Optimus as well but i\'ll wait for the Earthrise version! 

 

The Siege Seeker is the best articulated, best looking "Seeker" we've ever gotten -subjectivity be damned. And there is NOTHING wrong with the standard, non-smirk/slashed head. I've owned, and been disappointed by a lot of Starscreams over the years - to the point I stopped collecting them altogether even as MPs, but Siege Starscream is going to remain MY Starscream. This new Guy can get in line.

I'm not stupid enough to believe the majority on here won't prefer the G1/F15 version - that's obvious. But I'm not going to pretend that the obvious compromises and steps-backward in terms of articulation and sculpt aren't there just to have that F15. And if the freaking nosecone just hangs off the back then even my Boy Skywarp won't get a purchase this time around.

I never really watched the original cartoon. I know the first episode starts on Cybertron and ends on Earth, but I don't really know what happened in the middle. Don't know what people expected other than Earth for the sequel of a line focused on the last day on Cybertron before the Ark launches. Always assumed going directly to Earth was the obvious thing.
I suppose Beast Wars while everybody was in stasis would have been an option too?

 

A bit bummed to hear about Starscream's apparent substantial articulation. But... The fact that ER Screamer has a good alt mode, no battle damage paint, and none of that overly-greebly molded detail is enough to win me over. Ideally, I'd have that and better articulation, but honestly, I've dealt with average articulation on other figures so I really don't care. I've been wanting a good Voyager Seeker for so long, and this checks off so many boxes that I'm all in.

 

And I'm not sure why this is so important.

The facts are:

1. even if you want to deny it for some reason, it's very apparent that it's based on an old design, and for that it's just lazy engineering
   
2. while it looks fine overall, it could have been better
   
3. it had less articulation than the Siege tetra
4. has unsightly undercarriage kibble in the alt/plane mode

 

I’m hugely ecstatic about the Siege Seeker mold. I’ve felt the same, we’ve never had a Seeker design this good- ever.

Having said that, I’m willing to give up (compromise) on some articulation for a better robot and alt modes.

I think both head sculpts are five though. I’ve loved all the Siege head sculpts.

 

The undercarriage here is not nearly as distracting, plus i believe the set up is for Ghost SS and Coneheads.

 

Glad to see the rank insignias from siege returning, i hope they update the website for earthrise so the blacklight codes can return.

 

What puts me off this starscream is the feet stuff, what appears to be huge scoops before the legs. The only reason why I’m even remotely considering him is the map piece.

 

I'm going to have to echo the sentiment that this is purely subjective. I'm not convinced that ER Starscream looks better. I also don't agree that they were so limited with the transformation that they couldn't have had better articulation. I want to like this figure, I'm just not sure yet if I will.

 

What are the map pieces? I haven't been able to find photos anywhere.

He looks good from the front, so did Siege but here it's even better, more classic Starscream look, no faux chest cockpit, no crappy battle damage, although both backs are still messy, i heard one of the reasons the poseability was lessened was because it affected the look, this isn't terrible but it ain't great either, kinda like Siege and there he had more articulation, so why take this stance here ? Maybe because of the cockpit, i don't know

 

They look good.  Makes you wonder what the rest of the line will look like?
