    Good because I don't. :p

Dated shit is still dated, paint it up and polish it however you like, a turd is honestly still a turd.

I'm just stating it's based of a dated mold. anyone with eyes can plainly see it.

yes, it may be new, but it just takes so so many cues from the old mold. and hey it's cool. buy what you like. But that thing is def gonna shelf warm. i have no doubt in my mind at all. but sadly it's taking a slot when a brand new figure could take it's slot instead. Like perhaps, Trailbreaker, or Sunstreaker or hell... A new version of say...Blitzwing!

Hoist, grapple, and astrotrain are going to fly off the shelves. and possible so might the prime though i think the price may scare some stores from carrying it. I have a feeling it's going to cost nearly the same as Omega Supreme.

Actually, that Prime is priced as a Leaderclass. I have it pre-ordered at Pulse for $50.

50 bucks for a deluxe sized toy? that's cray. must be paying for the Trailer. eh, it's cool. I admit, just tired of seeing prime in every single wave of toys.

It isn't a Deluxe-sized figure, though. It's the same height as the Siege one, which is the same height of the Classics mold.

I hate PotP Starscream. I know it has some fans but I am not one of them. That figure is basically only good as a blank canvas for people who enjoy painting their own figures. Elita-1 is awesome though. /end rant.

EDIT: I'm going to wait to pass judgment on ER Starscream. Even with the limited articulation it still has an awesome alt mode. I think I actually like the robot-mode design more then Siege (except for those funky feet).

It's a compromise. Siege will have much better articulation. But ER has a better robot mode and alt mode (IMO). Siege tetra jet is not bad at all, but that classic F15 sure looks nice.

You can call it an 'upsize' of the classics design but ER has better arm proportions. Classics Seekers had those annoying stubby arms.

Cybertronian seekers AND Earthbound seekers in one collection; beautiful.  The option of having Acid Storm and Sunsurge in their Cybertron form next to Shockwave is a 1st in G1 XFormer history (I still wish Masterpiece seekers that remained behind on Cybertron had their original forms).

Ill say it again; hands down one of the best G1 collectible lines to surface since the Generations/ Alternators/ early MP era.  Additionally, some of the PotP and Combiner War bots fit in nicely.

I personally collect Masterpieces; Amarda and Energon completely ruined the \"department store\" line for me, especially when Alternators were introduced.  If those didnt exist, this would easily be my definitive G1 collection, 2nd only a Generations/ PotP/ TR combo collection.

Well that's disappointing. Feels rather lazy on their part. No reason to replace Siege Starscream then.

Well, this one also looks a hell of a lot better. Has a better head sculpt, a better alt mode, better detail, and isn’t wearing its entire alt mode on its back. The null rays are better, and the a lot mode is actually a proper representation of an Earth jet, whereas the “tetrajet” wasn’t really a proper tetrajet at all.

Also, Yautja is wrong about a few things: it may not have double jointed elbows, but the elbow just is does have are engineered for a deeper bend. You can even see that in the packaging pics. We don’t know for certain that the knees don’t, either. It also may not have deep waist movement, but it also looks better as a trade-off. This one also has better ankle tilts than the almost non-existent tilts on the Siege figure. Also the Siege figure didn’t really have butterfly joints in the shoulders, as they collided with the chest plate immediately. The only way to avoid that was to rotate the arm as though you were using the shoulder joint normally, which nullified any usefulness the butterfly joint would have.

So really, it’s not quite the downgrade everyone says it is, and is an upgrade in terms of visuals and engineering by a long shot. That head sculpt is perfection and makes the Siege one look amateur by comparison. It’s also not lazy, as again they were pretty smart about the articulation given the limits on the transformation, and managed to get far more superior proportions than either the Classics mould or Siege figure.

Not to disagree, but that is purely subjective.
I personally find the Siege Seeker mold to be superior in articulation and looks, and really don't care about having an F15 alt mode with how great the bot mode is.
    Which is also subjective.
No winners or losers here. Everyone gets the figure they prefer.

Edit: just checked the pics again, and the elbows do indeed look limited to 90-degrees.
Also, it won't be able to aim the null rays like the Siege one and will instead have them aiming from the sides, while the Siege one could manipulate the "butterfly" joint to allow the gun to be on top.

That would have been amazing, but I feel like they would have had to start it with Siege to ensure clear continuity.

I mean, I have my Siege Starscream in front of me, and it can't. Not unless it's basically pointing out to the side, but he can't aim forward.

Also, Starscream usually aimed his null rays from the sides, seeing as they were on the sides of his arms...

I don't know how I feel about these figures. I am really excited for Wheeljack and Cliffjumper, since I just have an old 2010 junker for Wheeljack and the Prime retail Cliffjumper, but man. Man. I am torn on the Optimus and Starscream being released so soon after having great releases in Siege.

    • Starscream certainly looks a lot better, but he also loses a lot of the movement granted to the Siege version.
    • Optimus Prime looks almost identical with a worse head, better alt mode, articulated hands and that trailer. Plus the matrix thing. Is that an accessory that can be removed? Either way, it's cool.
    • Hoist and Grappel look good, but I don't really care about them as characters so they are low on my list.
    • Ironworks is cool and I want him. Not much else to say.
We'll see what the future holds, and I'll still be getting Starscream and Optimus at some point. Siege Optimus is great, and a good alt-mode would go a long way.

Not aiming directly forward, but nice enough for it to be dynamic:

Astrotrain's empty box is rough. I'm guessing there were meetings about how to make this work best and nobody agreed. He looks like he's floating in a swimming pool with all that tray around him, and that's on top of the gap under the window. WOOF! Leader-class figures that are just Voyager-class size with an extra accessory are a tough sell, at least Shockwave's package fills the window sideways and is at the top of the tray.

Hope we get an indication before too long that the Starscream mold will cover his squadmates and their Conehead brethren.

I think I would take the plunge and replace my Classic Seeker lineup.
