Its just tricky when leader class figured defining feature was their size for the last several years. Im hoping we get a size between Voyager and Commander again real soon, cause at this point we've only had voyagers with extra gear.
That is not actually a scale chart, because the figures in the chart are not actually drawn to the same real world scale. It's the cartoon's "height chart" for robots based on essentially arbitrary scaling of the figures based on what the animators felt "looked good" The cartoon isn't even "anime accurate" to itself!
I kinda wish they had thrown some paint onto his train wheels. That's a detail that really would help the overall visual of that mode.
I think it’s debatable if he looks better than Legends Astrotrain...esp if he’s supposedly shorter. But the alt modes are better at least.
Hopefully someone creative can make a gap filler for the shuttle and if they are really good perhaps it can do something in the launch mode and store on the legs in robot or the tender in Train mode too. Or perhaps someone could go whole hog and make a whole new Train car and hide the additional pieces in that and use the train car to expand the base into a proper base rather than the simple plastic cross roads it it - maybe even include some track and give it a little joke vehicle mode for Micromasters and Battlemasters to ride inside of.
I have that Legends version, which I think I’ll keep displayed as my Astrotrain, at least for now to match the size of Blitzwing and Octane. Yeah the name is alright. I remember some not digging the ‘Siege’ title at first either. But now that I see it written on the packages in all caps with no space, I think we’re all wrong and it’s actually ‘Ear-Thrise’ ... 3 ears? Perhaps the molds all have an extra ear on the back of the heads?
As soon as the mud is removed it will be perfect. Still miss the days when the Takara versions were different than the Hasbro ones.
astrotrain looks like a mashup of dob browns time train from bttf 3 and advenger from brave of gold goldran
might it be possible for astrotrain to attach the launchpad to his back in robot mode as a kind of weaponised battle armored cape? the side walls of the coal car look like they should be dual jointed to fold ut flat to the side but als straghten out to the sides once flatteened for the launch platform mode so theoretically you already got all the dual purpose joints you need for a functional cape
