I've done it. I've gone and pulled the trigger on DOTM Leader Prime. His trailer is just calling me too much. I know there's been some corner cuts, but it's just too impressive that they did a full weapons ring and jetpack and weapons. Let's see if it's worth it when it turns up.

 

I had a similar issue with my ROTF leader Prime, where his foot broke off the swivel, and a little rubber cement did the trick.

Just make sure u get the industrial/ constitution one, and not the crap they sell at Walmart. Lowe's or Home Depot should have it.

The original leader figure only had them like that because they COULDN'T rotate dammit! And wow, SS really does look budget af next to all those other ones haha

Seriously. Out of all those "figures" we only have ONE head revealed... I think people should ignore their teaser images and only focus on the things that at least have painted prototypes. I'm very on the fence about their WWII Bee. On the one hand he looks really really awesome, but OTOH, he's very expensive for his size (I like smaller figures but not for $80).

If you download the IDW Transformers app for your phone or ipad you can download pretty much every issue of TF comics over the years. At least that's how it worked when I last signed in...

The shield is total bullshit I agree haha but after spraying the accessories silver the sword fits in his hand perfectly and looks great! Anyway, I'm glad we're both happy with our respective figures

Sorry, I'm so confused with all these versions of Optimus. Is THIS the one you have and would recommend over others? I already have the official MPM and would have that one as my "fun" Optimus. Thanks in advance for your help. ALL these companies have similar names and switch their names and nothing is official it's hard to keep track!

 

Well, the cab is the weakest point on the SS megatron so Ill customize one from one of the Mixmaster junkers I have.
The original Mixmaster has lights on top of the original ones (like Megatron has as well so I guess I can work with that.
And since I know dotm voyager mixmaster is in scale with the SS cars, I believe I have a winner megs there.

Thank you! Haha! I like them angled up, though I have had a few people point out that I display my figures in inaccurate ways. Fortunately I don't answer to the accuracy gods, so I just display what I think looks best.

That is the one. He's real great as a display piece, but I personally think the official is better. The price and quality make him worth owning, but as far as play value, he's big, and stiff and the transformation is awkward. I also swapped his original head out for a slightly bigger one from the BlackMamba version as well as a few other small modifications to allow more movement in the whole chest area so I could pose him the easy that I think looks best.

Agreed! I almost didn't take the shot because I knew it would be more accurate and look better once the new Bee comes out. He looks incredible!

Yeah, they've been effing it up ever since the MPM, for some reason. They started basing it (and the model of the car) off the Rally Yellow version of the standard Chevy Camaro SS. But there's two problems with that: !. The TF version was a concept version of the Camaro with slight differences to the look (e.g. the front bumper is shaped differently, the grille was a bit different, no XM shark fin, etc...), and 2. He was a custom paint job that was more orange-ish yellow.

 

SS44 arrived, and he's great. Definitely going to give him a coat of silver, but overall I'm happy. And he handles all the Dr Wu weapons well. Here are some shots with the UFO trailer as well.

 

Thanks for the clarification! I want it but I also don’t feel like I NEED it. But I also feel like once it’s sold out everywhere it’ll be super hard to find.... I think I’m gonna stick with the official MPMs as much as I can for now. Or maybe straight KOs (my MPM3 is a straight KO). If I get a larger Optimus I’ll need a larger Ironhide, then I’ll probably need a larger Ratchet.... oy vey!

And definitely display your figures how you like them! There are just a few things that tend to bug me. One being OP’s shoulder pads being too straight and the other being Jazz’s gun posed upside-down   oh, and it bugs me when someone complains about a figure being bad but then their pics show that they didn’t transform it properly!

 

Thank you! I started browsing imediatly to find me a Megatron! I have been on the lookout to find the right megs a while, so this one will be my movieverse one! Now all I need is a ( Peterbilt) Prime that is in the proper scale, the Studio series one (and os KO) are to small.

I think the tank mode is great, but it’s such a disappointment that the turret can’t rotate. I mean, they put all that effort in to put the whole turret assembly on a rotating platform, and then the arms just lock it in place? Why?

 

And also the turret doesn't sit flat against the tank.

 

Which is low-key sad tbh. Especially when other companies who make KO'S do better with the engineering
