Aside from the headsculpt, I'd say maybe. Honestly, I think you're better off buying a Cog and repainting it if you want.

I’d much rather just have an official Grand Cog.

One of the problems with changing over to Earth Themed items so soon (perhaps a year to soon) is that Sideswipe won't match Sunstreaker unless they purposefully fudge his alt mode to look like Sideswipe's one. It also means we lost out on our one time chance to see Conehead Tetrajets too. as if they make them now they'd be based on the Starscream F-15 body instead, and as such a toy much like many other options - they be what we had before only in another size. I'd rather of have Red Wing like Coneheads now and then something F-15 related from 2022 onwards.

As it stands now I can deal with the lack of Cybertronian modes good points - like it will help with Snapdragon getting an Earth Mode now, but it's hurts with The Autobot Targetmasters unless they just wing it on the alt modes or make them as lazy repaints like they already did once.

I think we’ll see a new Fasttrack being released with/alongside Scorponok at some point in the next 9 months.

As for Slammer, my honest thought is they’re holding him & a new Scamper back to release with/alongside a new Metroplex.

I’ve long thought a new, cartoon accurate Metroplex will be the Titan for WfC Part III, John Warden constantly namedrops him at conventions, has said he’d like to redo him (he wasn’t on Transformers when the last Metroplex was released) & if he was released in 2021 it’d be 8 years since he was last on shelves in the West, plenty time to wait for a do-over.

I’m sad to see cybertron alt modes go away. i know everyone’s like Earthrise is like perfect “mini masterpieces” but to me they’re all so boring.

how about finishing out the 87 or 88 figures? how about some Japanese Tfs? or Japanese combiners? did they even do all the triple changers?

Earthrise just seems like we’re back to “Core 84”
    or “Bore 84”

I can't honestly say what I feel other than slight disapoinment - I can see good and bad - so long as they don't over use the core cast and address areas that I'd like to see in the process of the line - like Autobot Targetmasters or Snapdragon I'll be happy enough 1984 over and over again is getting tedious - but if they push the area they cover out to the whole G1 era I'm happy enough, especially when they throw in the odd Universe like additional thing like Hotshot & Galaxy Optimus.

But if we get nothing but Diaclone Cars and 9 different colour F-15's I will eye roll a bit.

We are still getting Apeface and Snapdragon not to mention the micromasters and their small bases, I doubt it's all going to be the 84 guys again

people tend to forget the first wave or two is usually front loaded with 84/85 guys but as the line goes on we get late era g1 stuff (impactor, barricade, apeface, spinister, crosshairs, springer etc are all post wave 1 in siege for example)

I do agree I’d like a bit more variety but I’m cautiously optimistic (see below) At least we’ll see Apeface, Snapdragon & Scorponok in this line, I’m hoping Sureshot & Pointblank too but with Crosshairs getting a new head only, I’m wondering if these two will share the same fate (I think Crosshairs could have been a future Hascon exclusive or something similar pulled forward)

I think even if we don’t see the rest of the Head/Target/Powermasters this year, considering the time frame in the line and the way Hasbro has tried to cover obscure references, that the Omnibots & Deluxe Insecticons will probably be the ‘missing gap’ filled in by Earthrise, along with the Micromaster Bases & the Mercenaries (like Siege gave us the Powerdashers & the rest of the ‘84 stragglers such as Shockwave & Reflector)

Plus Spinister, Apeface & possibly even Crosshairs could all have been pulled forward from Earthrise too. I think this is likely the reason there’s only an Astrotrain repack as a Decepticon in Earthrise Wave 1.

If the above three would have been at the start of Earthrise & we had no Siege Wave 5 as originally planned (maybe with a deluxe Autobot from Wave 1 getting bumped to Wave 2) I think people would feel a lot better about the variety.

It's very true. Sure we get the odd outliers, like Flywheels in Siege or Dreadwind in PotP, but generally they lead with what they consider their most 'iconic' product (so, while TR didn't lead with '84/'85 guys we got pretty much all the 'regular' '87 Headmasters in the first two waves). Most of the deep cuts come later.

Sure, I think things being moved to extend Siege has made everything a little wobblier, but I still think we're in for some juicy surprises further down the line. Keep the faith, and all that.

personally i dont think crosshairs was planned at all, more of a happy accident that the bot modes work decently

exactly, hasbro has gone pretty obscure of late but they will always include the iconic bots in a line as well

I’m still surprised they didn’t do Pointblank yet from Punch/Counterpunch.

Will probably see him if not in Earthrise, then in part 3 I'm guessing.

I was just remarking, over in another thread, how odd it was that there hadn’t been a second use of that mould.

I think so, especially if you buy an extra Cog and switch out the torsos.

I think my biggest hope for Earth Rise will be more opportunities for effect pieces and Titans Return compatibility

I don't super care about more G1 versions of characters I already enjoy, so new seekers I'm fine skipping unless we get a new color scheme like Nacelle, same with Optimus Prime seems great for other fans, I'm fine passing on it. The few characters I don't have I'll pick up, like Grapple, but mostly it'll be the newer characters like Ironworks and other stuff I am excited about. Besides that, new battlemasters seem neat, I'm hoping we get a lot more effect parts than we saw in SIEGE I would love for each size class to start getting them. I don't see that happening though.

Besides that, the integration of the AIR system with Titans Return ramps is exciting, I loved the diarama building. I'm wondering if Apeface is a hint at other hidden opportunities to get more Titans Return ports and Titanmaster pegs on molds. Maybe Earth Rise Micromasters have compatible ports on them so we can use either type of tiny toy to stand on different parts of our big bots? That's the thing I'm most excited about, diorama building.

    It mostly is though.
What are we getting in Earthrise so far that is post 86? One base and two Micromasters.
You can sell it how you want, but if Micromasters are not your thing WFC has been preeety monotonous.

A drop on a tepid plate.
Three if those are an extra addition.
Springer may not be 84-85, but he's still a fanfav and he and Ultra Magnus both already had toys I could lived with very handsomly.
MMC ready quenched my need for an Impactor and Barricade is just Evil movie Prowl.
They aren't just leading with characters that already had loads of toys, the whole line is pervaded by them.
Meanwhile we could have bought Crosshairs, Sureshot, Pointblank, Snapdragon, Apeface, Spinister, Quake, Needlenose, Quickmix, Scoop, Landfill, Doubledealer and others by now and been that much closer to G2 and Beast Wars.

call it what you want, but during siege, between siege itself and generations selects, we have gotten some fairly obscure characters mixed in with the regular 84/85 lineup
