I was thinking about learning how to add LEDs to stuff.

 

The ground drone is based on the NASA Curiosity rover, on mars right now. Check out the molded wheel rockers and even the mini nuclear RTG battery in the back.

I agree these look great.  Wonder why Hasbro didn\'t think up of things like these?  A lot of those people there just have G1 on the brain.  I think adding new characters into a line would really benefit them.

 

Blue dude looks like it's make a good Roller for Optimus. Now if I could just get them to clone Nu-Countdown so I don't have to find somebody parting out an Omega Supreme... (Seriously, somebody thwap Warden over the head with a trout for that one.)

 

Agreed. Dr Wu is typically pretty reasonable with their MSRP, so I'm hopeful.

Glad to see other people get hyped over this, because I fail to understand the point to these things. However I would like to see these guys, or some other company make toys of Soundwaves other, lesser known, cassets, like Overkill and Slugfest, or those combining guys who turn into Squawkbox. Now those would be cool. Also an LED box the size of one of the Cassets would be super cool, as it would make Soundwave\'s lamp-post mode way more convincing.

 

I get what you mean about wanting Siege-style versions of the lesser-seen cassettes, however I think I'm most excited for these because they aren't characters I already know.

The blue rover is definitely inspired by Autoscout from the G1 cartoon "A Prime Problem," but overall these are wholly new toys to fire my imagination.

Maybe the red drone isn't one of Soundwave's? Maybe this is a vs. pack anticipating a War for Cybertron Blaster and the red drone is an Autobot skyspy?

Or maybe the rover is Soundwave's Autoscout which is rebuilt into a flying Autoscout when Soundwave is ressurrected as Soundblaster?

The other, much simpler, answer to why I'm psyched for these new cassettes is I'm the guy who did this...
