Looks like BBTS is getting into the scalping game. Saw Siege Bluestreak for $34.99.

 

They seem to be getting some from foreign stock in Asia, hence the "instructions may not be in English" comment in the description.

 

Pretty sure I've seen that with pretty much every transformer product they've put on the site in the last year regardless of where it comes from

And unless its one of those actual Takura exclusive things like Big Convoy, Big Powered, etc. All the main line transformer lines are universal now, meaning its not like a couple years ago where people may have spent more money because the blue paint on an Ultra Magnus figure was more closer to the cartoon with the Takura version than the Hasbro one. The packaging and everything now is identical regardless to my knowledge. I think with POTP they might have put a Takura Tomy sticker if you got it in asia, but now they just have it printed on the box/package regardless now.

 

The Takara version does actually come with their own Japanese instructions, at least they do for Studio Series, so it is possible to not have English instructions still. But it's weird that they make a point of it on what should be regular old domestic Hasbro products.

 

Well, I WAS going to hunt down the older PG Strike model kit...then this went up:

New molding, richer coloring, and all the weapon sets? Well, I can just wait now.

 

BBTS has been in the scalping game for years. They constantly buy up exclusives from other US based stores to sell at a mark-up, like last year's WalMart exclusive Thanos and a lot of Walgreens exclusives. Just last month Walgreens had put up a pre-order page for Emma Frost that sold out in minutes, then later that same day BBTS suddenly had pre-orders for her at a mark-up.

 

BBTS could also be getting the Asian or other non-US market versions of toys to get around exclusivity agreements.

Anyhow, tried out my 2nd order from them using an expedited shipping option (fedex this time as was cheapest). Ordered earlier this morning and got a shipping notice early this afternoon already. If you don't want to wait almost a week to get the item to ship, then you have to use one of the faster shipping options.

 

I saw the Hound at $10 and I tried to think of what I could customize him into to justify buying another one. Ironfist? I bought the 3rd Party. Swindle? The combiner wars version scratches that itch and combines. I got nothing after that.

 

Hound appears to be forever shelf warming here at Walmart, Target, and Meijer.

 

Looks like BBTS saw your post about Big Powered and put him on sale this week.  

Did you order him?

I'm still thinking about it, but I am probably going to cave and add him to my POL before the end of the week.  

 

Because he was apart of wave 3 and people wanted the other characters in that wave
It was a pretty stupid decision for them to put an extra hound instead of a 3rd refraktor

 

And Siege Bluestreak at 34.99 is sold out. Guess BBTS knows what they are doing.

I saw that. Just sad it's bad timing at the moment. It will just depend if I have anything to go toward my "extra budget" after my nexr paycheck.

 

I managed to score one of the $40 MP Ramjets w/ the jacked shoulders(easy fix). Thrust for $80 is also a good price for an MP Seeker. I may have to jump on that.

I also have the X3 model kit that's dropping next year on order. Finally, good Mega Man X model kits (after those rather mediocre Bandai ones from the 1990s)
