    It is Psychic type
It's classification has been changed to the Unique Horn Pokemon
It has a new ability called Pastel Veil, which makes it and it's allies immune to being poisoned
It also heals poisoned allies when they switch into battle when the ability is active.
    It is a Shield Exclusive.

It's cute but the Psychic typing is underwhelming. So far, Sword looks to have the better Pokémon and gym.

A bit late here but also a shame that we aren't getting eighteen or even just sixteen gyms. That sounded like a huge shake-up from the formula. Hopefully we don't get another misinterpretation that big in the future.

    Pokémon White update:

I beat Elesa in Nimbasa City yesterday. She actually turned out to be much easier to defeat than I anticipated.
I was really worried about this battle at first because I knew she specialized in electric types, and with my team I didn't feel I had much of an advantage. The only ground type I had caught so far was Sandile, so I spent a lot of time training it to challenge Elesa. Well, turns out I didn't need it. Servine, Boldore, and Darumaka beat her almost all on their own.

I only caught Darumaka just before the previous gym, but it quickly became one of my go-to badasses. A far cry from Blitzle, who at level 21 has horrible stats, so low it's hard to train because it can't even stand up to a Pokémon 5 levels below it. I always like to have an electric type in my party, but once I actually find another electric type, Blitzle's going back in the box.

I really like the Shield Legendary Pokémon, which I thought was nice since everyone else seemed to be into Sword...but urgh, Sword really does seem to have the cooler roster so far.

I suggest when you get to Chargestone Cave looking for a Tynamo, Eelektross I find doesn't disappoint.

Wow. I wasn't expecting the psychic typing for G-ponyta. Neat.

I can deal with psychic typing for Galarian Ponyta and presumably Galarian Rapidash. I was hoping for Fairy typing though.

I'm surprised Galarian Ponyta is a psychic type, I was really expecting it to be a fairy type. Interesting choice. Also a bit surprised they didn't reveal the Galarian Rapidash in this reveal as well, since that's pretty much a given...

Thanks for the suggestion. My curiosity for options compelled me to look at the list of Gen 5 Pokémon, and Tynamo was one that stood out because it's one of the extremely few electric types in the whole game, and the only other pure electric type besides Blitzle (not including their evolutions).

But, I admit I'm considering just not including en electric type (blasphemy for me). They're only super effective against water and flying, and I have those covered by Servine and Boldore respectively. I just need to figure out what other type will fit in my current party and cover any weaknesses.

Since Shiny Solgaleo/Lunala are on the way I’m curious as to how we’ll get their Pre-evolutions Shiny...

So Ponyta and Farfetch are version counterparts?

They don't really have anything in common, I'm pretty sure we are just looking at two pokemon that are version exclusives alone

I just realized that all the "leaks" that claimed that G-ponyta would be fairy is confirmed fake, lol.
That's what I'm getting from it. Unless Galarian Farfetch'd is a thing or G-rapidash isn't, I think they're actual version exclusive counterparts are TBD.

    Psychic type.
    And Galarian Weezing is fairy.

    Game Freak logic.

Possibly! Or it could end up being a random counterpart situation like Sandshrew/Mankey in R&B or Phanpy/Skarmory in G&S (I know there were others in later Gen's, but I can't for the life of me remember version exclusives from later games).

I never see much discussion here about the tgc...does anyone dabble with the card game still?

Here are some (but not all) of my personal favourite rare cards:

Charizards I pulled from packs back in the day (the Shadowless one was PSA'd before Shadowless was even recognised as real):

And my rarest card of all:

Nothing beyond being the latest in a long line of pairs of pokemon that can only be found in one of a generations pair of games. Starting with Ekans/Arbok in red and Sandshrew/Sandslash in red among other exclusives in gen 1 and rolling forward through all the generation between 1 and 8.

I also used to play the TCG but quit because Yu-Gi-Oh! was coming out and I switched over. I regretted it ever since.
