Got myself a copy of Generations Selects Siege Hot Shot a few hours ago. I didn't see a review thread for this exclusive figure here yet, so I shall make one.

Selects Siege Hot Shot here is a repaint of Siege Hound with a new headsculpt (A mold that I actually quite a fan of) in Cybertron Defense Hot Shot's signature colors of predominantly blue with some black, red, silver, and yellow.

Despite some fans would prefer a new mold for Cybertron Defense Hot Shot, this figure still looks quite vivid and nice for what it is. The new headsculpt is fantastic, probably one of the best headsculpt out of any of the Siege figures so far. The knee joint on the right leg is a bit loose, but other than that there's not much QC issues that i have with my own copy.

As a repaint of Siege Hound, Hot Shot here has the exact weapons that came with Hound; just in different colors.

If you have Siege Hound, the articulation and transformation here is identical.

Hot Shot in his vehicle mode looks quite nice, and the shade of the blue is very nice when you see it in-person.

I'm not sure if I really prefer Hound or Hot Shot, but the colors do look nice on this figure. If you really like the Siege Hound mold or you really like the Unicron Trilogy, Selects Siege Hot Shot here is a good buy.

Looks great. How are the joints other than that knee? My hound has some of the best tolerances of any Hasbro figure I’ve purchased, so I’m really hoping this one is similar.

I bet this Hotshot color scheme photograph way better than Hound dark color scheme. Add some silver to those black rims.

Sucks that the rim paint apps were dropped here. Especially since this wasn’t a mass retail release.

Aside from the right knee joint on my copy being a bit loose, the rest of the joints are fine. Depending on the copy, it's more of a YMMV thing if anything.

I actually don't mind the fully black wheels on Hot Shot, as it makes Hot Shot more distinguish from Hound. I actually think it's a cool look.

Speaking of Hound, here's some comparison pics of both Hot Shot and Hound:

Growing up I always thought that CDF Hot Shot was one of the shorter deluxe's out there so the height difference was a surprise. Additionally, the only deluxe's I've bought in the past 5 years before this were T30 Starscream and SS VW Bumblebee so imagine my surprise when CDF Hot Shot was slightly taller than a modern deluxe.

I can do additional pics upon request.

I like the look of this figure far more than I thought I would.

How does he look with both weapons plugged into both shoulders to sort-of simulate his over-the-shoulder guns from his Cybertron toy?

I tried that, and it's not the best look.

I'm going to pair mine with Cog. The blue is really different but I think he can easily get more of a Cybertron Defense vibe covered in Cog weapons.

I liked Hound and I like him. Face sculpt is great, his joints feel a bit tighter, and overall I probably slightly prefer the deco. Definitely nonessential though, unless you want to make a point to Hasbro about non G1 characters.

The mold almost fits him better than it does Hound. At least, all the details aren't swallowed up in a blob of green so dark it's almost black.

    i like him. a lot.

also works best as a "g1" hot shot because the colors and alt mode are distinct from hot rod and bumblebee.

I have zero affinity for the Unicron Trilogy (never watched that series and it just predates me getting back into TFs in adulthood), but I love the colors and details on this guy and ordered it purely on its own merits as a standalone, bad-ass looking Autobot. Still waiting on Pulse to ship, but I can't wait to snap some pics of this guy!

Yeah, I like him as much as I thought I would. Which is a lot. I feel like a classics version of Hot Shot that isn't that terrible Universe deluxe from 2010 (or whenever that was) is seriously needed, I'm glad they gave us this version. He looks awesome next to my Titans Returns and other Siege toys (I pose them all together on the shelf because they all look really good together). I never even bothered with Hound (I have Universe for my Autobot shelf then Combiner Wars for my Lost Light shelf and just simply didnt need another) and Hot Shot is a great use of the mold and I only need one.

Got him! He's pretty cool. The neck articulation is disappointing but the posability and colors are really good. I prefer this one over the Hound version.

Anyway of fixing the tabbing issue, with the two posts on the dash, that tab into his sholders.
