While it can be argued that Taikonzhen is one of the early brands to do OSKO (they also do regular KO) their KO is off poor quality and usually has simplified parts to keep the cost low. There is also zero paint and the aim of the line is to appeal to kids that are awed by the size (and not so much the rest) and for parents who think they got a good deal for something so big for such a low prize.

WJ on the other hand can be credited as the one who ushered in the golden age of KO by starting the improved OSKO movement and by extension improved regular sized KO.

When the MPP10 hit the market a few years ago, it took the collecting scene by storm. How is it possible that a KO can be miles better than an original in every single way? Many thought it is a one off but no, they further shook the world with the M-01 Commander. That paved way for companies like Yes Model, BMB, THF, and others to really step up the KO game.

For probably the first time in history, pirates realized they can make much more money by selling the improved KO of a popular line instead of just churning out KO of lowest possible cost to appeal to the lowest demographics.

Gentlemen, this is a great time to be collecting transformers and this can easily be classified in collecting culture one day as the era of transformers renaissance.

It's safe to say that KO companies like Taighonzen started it, and WJ improved it.

Mine showed up today. He’s not replacing my MPM-4 in my MPM display, but gee golly is he pretty though mine had some smokestack issues that I’m working on fixing. Wasn’t very impressed by the more initial coloured pics but it looks great in hand.

Sure, I wouldn't say no to that either. I'm referring to the overall quality of the figure though. Great paint apps, good tolerances and QT, little can/ needs to be done to improve him. The same cannot (imo) be said about many other MPM figures; including the MPM-4. Hence we got this guy

It's always easier to piggy back off others hard work. Even if Hasbro and Takara went all out, a KO company could still do something that would seem like an improvement. I'm sure a KO of Jazz will be released and have more paint apps and many will consider superior to the orginal. KO companies have a large benefit of adding little "improvements" and then undercutting the official product by being cheaper. So I don't see much irony. Just my two cents.

I completely agree. KO companies will be around if for nothing else than to offer a cheaper figure. I just echo the sentiments many others have who feel that a "Master Piece" line should be just that; especially with the price tags associated with it.

There are plenty who happily support the line, but there are just as many, if not more, who wait for a KO because they know it will have significant improvements. Improvements that could/ should have been included on the initial figure; especially when it comes to QT. Just my opinion though  

 

I think ShowZ must've been hacked or something, as today I got an email saying my order has been shipped. I'd always thought mine would be stuck indefinitely as awaiting stock while Wei Jiang seemingly produce this figure once per month
