I keep trying to tell people, the reason Transformers has done so well so far is because of how universally accessible it was to get into collecting. I remember seeing MP-01 in Walmart for about 50 bucks when I was 13 and I was able to actually save up and get him. I don't see very many 13 year old kids being able to do that with MP-44, if they even know it exists. Which, lets be honest here, how many kids are going to drop 20 on tiny siege dlx, 30 on a tiny voyager, or 50 on a voyager with extra kibble when they can easily get a video game for the same or slightly more? Let alone drop 150 on omega or 600 freaking dollars on a blue and yellow beach ball with teeth.

Sigh, my point is this, the bubble is going to burst much sooner than later. The second Hasbro started chasing the imaginary collector market is when they put an expiration date on the IP. They have priced out just about all newcomers and they are now pricing out the existing fan base little by little. It will eventually get to the point where there isn't enough of us around for them to make any good figures available and they will fast loose what little actual children market they had because no one will want their overpriced happy meal toys. We will be the next G.I. Joe.

I apologize for asking this, since I'm sure it's been covered before. Can someone tell me if, as a current premium member in the U.S., I will at some later point be charged shipping, or is it really going to ship for free?

Everyone keeps exaggerating with "two years before we see this!" - It's a year and a few months, maybe even close to a year and a half, on the outside.

Just like the Sail Barge, standard shipping in the US is free. For the barge, that meant FedEx.

hey look, the sky must be falling. truth be told, the collector market isnt imaginary and the pricing on figures is pretty much industry standard. take any comparable toyline like power rangers lightning collection, marvel legends, dc multiverse or star wars black series. you pay $20 for a 6" figure that has a weapon, alternate head and hands and maybe an effects piece. with a deluxe transformer you get an action figure, a toy car and a puzzle. if you are going to decry the current prices as a foreshadowing of the death of transformers then you need to apply it to the entire toy and collectibles industry

all orders on hasbro pulse over $50 have the option of free shipping regardless of if you are a premium customer or not

It's my understanding that the collectibles industry as a whole is NOT doing that well as of late, which is why you keep seeing retailers that cater to said market are dropping off like flies. Hastings, Hot Topic, Think Geek, Gamestop, etc. Which is why I call it an imaginary market, it's always been very niche, it's only had a flash-in-the-pan boost due to sitcoms like Big Bang making its a cultural thing and drawing in a very temporary crowd who are now moving on to the next "thing".

Kids don’t buy toys anymore. A 13 year old today wouldn’t be interested in MP-44 even for $50. They’ve got iPads now, you didn’t.

Brick and mortar retail in and of itself isn’t doing well, not just stores that cater to a niche market. Even grocery stores are seeing a decline in recent years thanks to places like Walmart. Pretending that’s it’s only stores in a collectors market that are on a decline is to ignore the big picture of retail in general

    Okay I think I'm paid....
I got an email saying there was a problem with my payment. I'm trying to pay a somewhat unusual way (I'm using a Paypal cash card, a debit card that pulls from my paypal account... it's a Mastercard so Pulse should see it as a normal Debit card). So I re-entered my payment info and it updated to 'Paid'. I sent an email to Hasbro payment people asking for a confirmation... but I think it worked.

Just charged; thank goodness it's after this last period where I bought a new phone (I got 400 back from sending my old iphone X, but still), so I don't have to worry about it for another month.
