I'm imagining the outcry if they do go CJ at 49 only to release TB/Hoist as the next Diaclone jumping Jazz. I'm kind of concerned all the releases will be crammed in the end of the year again.

 

The car from Cybertron you may be thinking of was Red Alert/Cannonball, which was clearly inspired by a Dodge Magnum. But in that case, the grille was entirely different and the headlights were altered slightly. What's different about WFC Cliffjumper and the Starion is, nothing has been altered (that we can tell from the few pictures we have).

I'll have to study the WFC Wheeljack. He does strongly resemble a Lancia Stratos, as he should, but some of the details may be altered to avoid licensing.

Imagine the outcry if Cliffjumper is 49... and is a licensed Starion. The turmoil and upheaval regarding the fate of MP Jazz is going to be fierce.

 

What if (LYC)= licensing yet cleared/ confirmed? No one has yet to figure out what that means. MP49 reveal depends on some final I's dotted and t's crossed for the licensing? Instead of a CJ announcement we get a SS reissue in May?

Seeing how Bee is sold out and not reservations closed, maybe they want to strike the minibot iron while it's hot. The idea of them doing the Toyota's isn't a bad one either ( Brawn/TB/and Hoist).

 

Good thought--I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what LYC could mean and could not find a similar meaningful acronym in any searches. The "L" immediately made me think it's licensing related as well.

 

I'm still a steadfast believer that the Positivity Train will add stops at the MP Stations of Meister, CJ and Ligier.

It wouldn't bother me in the least, if TT used similar looking cars from other brands for CJ and Meister.
I'm far more interested in the robot mode looking spot on, than the alt mode.

If 3P can manage it, than so can TT.

 

I agree, those are good ideas. Licensing Yet to Clear/Close. Would probably mean it's just a formality at that point, if a number has already been assigned to him.

But I still think if Cliffjumper isn't the next carbot, it'll be Skids or Mirage rather than the Toyotas.

 

I'm kinding of looking at TB/ Hoist for 2 reasons: Two distinct characters from 1 mold., which would likely lessen some of the complaint of a Seeker 2.0. Secondly, seeing the Generations Hoist, just seems like they must have put some serious thought in the MP version. I would expect them to be the most expensive carboys, as they're kind of the last chance to pack on the human figures and accessories for the diaclones cars.

 

If they Chibi'd it, I dont know how much of a difference there would really be. Skip the branding on the box and there would probably be no noticeable difference.

 

Provided Cliffjumper actually happens, it'd be an interesting window into behind-the-scenes shuffling and timing, to see we're at the point of a number tentatively assigned to a Cliffjumper that makes it the next release to be announced and it wouldn't have a licensing sign-off yet. If MP-49's announcement drags out and ends up something else, I wonder if Takara once again got shot down and had to pivot.

 

Maybe the listing was more an internal one versus the one from solicitors we normally see( No product no. on CJ, and no prices or dates.) Hasbro would get some heads up due to them listing it on Pulse/ available to distributors and we've seen internal leaks before, that's about the only way I can make that make sense. While Hasbro has already established their stuff they are awaiting final confirmation from Takara hence no product now. I'm still pretty optimistic by next month we get a CJ and MP 50 reveal.

 

Yeah, differences will be minimal, robot mode in particular you'd have to know what you're looking for to even see anything. But I don't look forward to the discussions about Jazz, who's much more dependent upon Porsche details to achieve his appearance. Guaranteed if Cliffjumper isn't a Porsche, Jazz won't be either.

So am I. Unless we're about to enter a drought, a reveal should be imminent. Could be they're just waiting for NYCC to be over so as not to take eyes off Unicron in his home stretch.

 

Very good point about Unicron. That's a landmark Transformer and releasing a MP would take away from both.

 

Ok now that Unicron is done where are my reveals Takara? I wonder if they would do a new Rodimus right after Prime at 50? He or Galvatron in 2020 , with the other dropping in 2021 with Unicron.

Isn’t there a show early November? I wouldn’t be surprised to see something come up before the double Bee-Blackarachnia drop.

 

Ehh, it's been kind of dead lately, most people have had their Prime for a month, Bee got delayed to next month, Cliffjumper stilll has been confirmed or denied. and I'm slowly getting sucked into Macross . Hopefully we can see 49 and 50 next month is 49 is indeed Cliffjumper. After the Earthrise reveals, this board needs an MP jolt.

So far no confirmation we've been trying to figure out what (LYC) means. The rest of the Earthwise reveals did happen so there's some hope we havent been pranked. As you can guess there was a buzz for a little bit but with no confirmation from anyone it's kind of ebbed out. So we have this listing and rumor has it mp 50 wont be a BW at this point anyway.

 

Are we all keeping in mind that there’s a pretty nice Earthrise Cliffjumper that was announced? That’d be a strong possible source for an error or mixup.

 

It would be kind of hard to confuse a painted chibi Cliff for the Earthrise one, his altmode will most likely scale with bee, and the Earthrise would be too long for chibi. The guy never gave any background where the information was from, so maybe some internal Hasbro stuff. Would kind of make sense they would know of an upcoming takara release was coming but not having product numbers. @TTemploy couldnt confrim or deny so we have to do the waiting game.
