You guys know Pat Lee didn't actually draw most of the books he's credited on as penciler? Yeah, read up on that a little bit.

 

Yeah he's lazy and a dipshit. That's well established. What's being said is that, if he WEREN'T such an asshole, he'd still be a good artist. Well, a decent artist at least.

 

There's so few examples of his own, actual artwork that nobody can really know this. Alex Milne was ghosting for him from the start.

 

As interesting as it is to talk about the influence of Pat Lee's TF art and his dual side as a piece of shit of a human and how much each part of his activities should be weighted in when considering his legacy, it isn't the topic.

The current theory is that the logo of the toy gives a clue about the colors that will be used like the other two versions where colored in their respective final schemes. Here we have red, yellow and white. So other than a Rodimus/Hotrod style scheme, China flag and Iron-Man I don't know how this could look.

 

Could be a Fire Guts God Ginrai homage or a Sentinel Prime homage:

The Sentinel one could be interesting but it still has a lot of orange. Ginrai doesn't even have yellow.

 

Yeah, but since when does 3P take everything literally? We're already dealing with a figure that has effectively no basis in any kind of canon. FGG has gold. Also he's the only orange colored Optimus Prime/Convoy that springs to mind. He's also ugly as sin, so if someone wanted to add some white and/or yellows to break up the color scheme it wouldn't be without merit.

 

That's why I'm guessing it will be leaning more towards the Chinese flag since there is no base for it in TF lore. Like the "China Red ver." of the Unicorn Gundam that Bandaid is making:

I want that giant missile awesome nuclear piece without buying a new st commander! These guys need to sell that part separately for real!!

 

I would bet/vote heavily it being Chinese-themed coloring, as the mold alterations are extremely "Chinese". As in, that is not at all how American nukes/rockets/launchers look. Those are Chinese/Russian missiles. (they often copy each other, both licensed and unlicensed).

 

The missile has to be pointy. Round is not scary. Pointy is scary.

I needed to see this version as Doubledealer... Cybertron Defense Red Alert, Machine Wars Soundwave, and Universe Countdown all would make great use of this mold too.

 

That looks awesome.
