They wanted to make a better sphere of the planet mode and didn't want 75 extra panels and accompanying hinges to over complicate the transformation of a twenty-seven inch tall, nineteen pound robot.

Agreed even with convention exclusives we get more than 2 months to prepare. Just knowing that there's a convention and that it will have "something" we get at least a year to save up holiday and birthday money. No such option for Unicron. I'm totally grateful that the deadline was extended and props to Hasbro. I will be a happy Uni owner. But we can still do better and I think Hasbro would also benefit from such an arrangement.

This process has been quite a journey. I remain unconvinced that Unicron is worth every dollar that Hasbro is asking for, but this is the chance for me to own a centrepiece for my collection. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this thread and look forward to continuing to follow the next stage of the process now that I’ve placed my order this evening.

That is a valid point. Especially with how good his planet mode looks. I don’t mind some more complexity in the transformation, bit if it makes him look like he’s made of shattered glass (no pun intended) it’s not worth it.

Yep. I think Core Star looks great. It's just half as tall as I would like and goodness, all those panels. I'm not one to be scared by actually having to transform a figure but everytime i see folks fawn over something like Core Star, I think of everyone who had nothing but complaints about Sunsurge and Wardog's transformations.

MP44 gets its share of it too.

And that goes back to being unable to make everyone happy. But, you know, a projected 12k ain't bad.
