This method is a limited production prepayment scenario. I do appreciate that this Unicron is a one-off and only a certain number will be made. It is unfortunate for those who couldn’t afford it in the 2-month-ish window. I think a payment plan option would be the best route for future projects.

 

No, they shouldn't. It's hard to schedule around production demands if they continue to move the quantity up. Everyone had an extra month as it is to commit to the project. It's done. No need to further complicate things.

They didn't even even need to do that with the numerous secondary market options available.

 

My order came in at $695.58 with shipping and taxes. That is $925 CAD. /gulp

 

Don't get me wrong they do need to have a cut off point, but two months is utterly absurd. The only reason I'm able to get one is that my etailer is very nice about this stuff. They have a payment plan over the entire time until it comes out.

 

I’ve been thinking this ever since I backed it. I’m in the middle of constructing a display case for my Barge right now. Can’t help but think about one for future Unicron too.

How final do you think the design is? What are the chances they’ll do something about some of that kibble? They have a year after all.

Look at it from the other side, there are people on this forum already wondering why they have to wait until early 2021 for this figure because they fail to grasp that this project isn't very far out of early concept/prototype phase yet. Imagine if they had to tack on yet another month to give every one a chance to save up money.

They managed to hit their 8k goal with a two month window. Options, fortunately, became available to provide to a larger customer may base. Albeit with some additional long term costs.

There is no way everybody is going to be happy and they crunched the numbers to figure out how to get what they wanted which was enough money to fund the project at their expected profit margins.

Yes, it would be a perfect scenario where everyone could get their Unicron on their terms. But it doesn't work that way. That's the way it is, life ain't fair and the world is mean.

 

With any luck I will meet the woman of my dreams in the next 14-18 months, move in with her and have to explain this thing showing up. I swear honey, this was long before your time, I'm not like that anymore.

 

I suspect the major design is pretty much locked. Perhaps a small tweak here and there.

Well if you are young and reasonably attractive you could always prostitute yourself to an older gentlemen to get back the lost rent money.

 

Look at this way though, Bloodstained didn't stop selling itself after it got its budget, this is Hasbro intentionally screwing themselves out of extra money by having such a uselessly restrictive timeframe. Even after the extension.
