That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

I don't rent. But have enough rentals where I have seen worse. I can generally expect a couple tenants to fall behind in December and January because of Christmas, as well as July and drive by their place and see enough debris from fireworks to know that rent went up in smoke.

Ah okay. I'm guessing that they also have to make all the preparations to mass produce this thing as well, so that makes sense. Also, now that I think about it, have we seen a box design yet?

I can't afford this figure, but at least I have War for Cybertron, Studio Series, and Cyberverse to turn to... most of which I probably can't afford either. Is it inflation? Is it Hasbro trying to maintain their business when fewer kids are buying toys? Is it just Hasbro being greedy? Is it all three reasons? Fewer kids are buying Transformers, so Hasbro has to raise prices and decrease the amount of plastic they use to cut costs, but people are buying fewer Transformers as a result :peoples:  There's no easy way to go about this, is there?

I ordered Unicron because I don't have a wife to explain these kind of decisions to. I don't have a wife because I make decisions like ordering Unicron.

Nope. We are expecting a basic box. Probably like the Generations Select figures. They made mention of it back at SDCC.

This confirms what I eyeballed a while ago.

To display it in Planet Mode, you need a shelf about 32 inches wide, 36 inches tall and 26 inches deep and supports 30 lbs of weight. That's a pretty big display

I find depending on the source you download from, or the device you watch from, or which scene, and various other factors drastically change Unicron's color. So Haslab is technically "screen accurate". But you also wouldn't be wrong if you wanted a different color scheme that's within that very broad range. Personally I would like a darker orange but both my interpretation and haslab's are technically correct.

My resolve was getting close to breaking last night. I've had a list of reasons why it's not a good decision for me for quite some time now, but after he hit 8,000 last night and I was looking at that timer going down and down I found myself pondering it. He really does look amazing, and it's big thing in Transformers history, literally and figuratively. I was seriously thinking about pulling the trigger.

And then I went to put the heat for the first time this season. Or rather, I tried to put the heat on. The noise that came out of the furnace was pretty horrifying. So no huge purchases for me for the time being. Just wasn't meant to be, I guess.

Still, I'm really happy seeing that this is going to happen and that a lot of people are going to have the opportunity to enjoy Unicron.

A rumored surprise? Like that they secretly began production weeks ago and that Unicron will be ready far ahead of schedule?

I believe some of that was sarcasm. The rest is answered on the crowdfund page.

The volume of space this will take up is...shocking. Talking total volume and not density. Height and width is isn’t too much larger than the 6” Black Star Wars Tie Fighter I have. But the depth...gasp! At least 2 feet deep. Probably more like 30 inches allowing for clearance. I’m pretty excited and also a bit bewildered (in a fun and awesome way). I was not fortunate enough to see this live. The pictures are good, but really hard to judge proper scale. This is a monster!

Hasbro's "No more orders even thought it won't be out for two years" rule is real dumb and they should rethink it.
