Spoiler WOW!!! That would be really stupid, and tick a lot of people off and I could see something like that happening. It would make all the more sense for the name of the show too. Just like discovery is named for the ship, star trek picard is not named for the person its named that for the crappy ship. Really hope that is not the stupid route this takes.
Given how most people are only watching this for Patrick Stewart, that'd be a really dumb move... Then again, Star Trek Generations exists. I just rewatched S1 and all the "making of" videos, and enjoyed most of it. Yes, lot of TOS style episodes, but the new characters made them not a chore to watch, particularly Data and Worf. Heck it had a very good episode about what it means to be a klingon, too. And Tasha's death was still impactful even after decades. ...coincidentally, I also learned from the extras that Troi was supposed to have three breasts. Hey, could we ALL make a silent wow and STOP posting videos of smug neckbeards theorizing on stuff they know nothing about? These people know nothing more than we do, they bring no new things to the table, they just spin a yarnnof this nothing into 10 minute or longer videos to gain adverts and money. They are not smart, not funny, and not entertaining. If there is a new 10 word rumor on twitter or something, post that, not the 20 minute video about the same little information.
I'd love to give the show a chance, problem is... I'd have to pay for the priviledge of watching it and giving it a chance, and I was already wasting money on futile endeavors like giving a chance to STD or to Bendis's Superman. I think it'll be better to simply drop it off of my radar.
And of course not available here because f**k global fans. VPN here I come. EDIT: Is it unavailable period?
Go on Twitter and search - keep trying until you find one that works. It has a Discovery style 23rd Century Bird of Prey in it for some reason, and a lot of the stray ships in it look more like the Section 31 Ships than anything else - they don't look especially Romulan or Federation either - for of elongated triangles with wrap around struts holding a nacelle out on the sides - something that could quite easily be from an entirely different franchise - very similar colour to the Discovery shuttle. I hope they are not Federation ships - or Romulan either to be honest. They don't really work in either template - the closest thing they might resemble is a Federation Mission Scout inflated to super size perhaps - but still somewhat of a stretch.
Looking good. Galaxy class looks the same. It's hard to see but it is the enterprise-d you can just barley read the registry number behind the shuttlebay to bad they didn't also show a sovereign class. Same tng uniforms in picards dream. That must be the scene he was talking about in interviews where he said when he agreed to do the series a condition was not to wear a uniform then he had to humble himself and insist to wear a uniform or the scene wouldn't work. It looks like the Starfleet comm badges are the all good things badges. A room of androids, maybe how data eventually comes back? The other trailer did show b-4 in a drawer.
So, I guess this is our first look at Hugh in the series, since Jonhnathan Del Arco posted this specific screen cap on his Twitter. He's lost most of his implants too.
You know, CBS could have saved a lot of money if they just made this show about Captain Picard in retirement, reuniting with his old ship mates in retirement. And, that be the entire show. I like those bits from the NYCC Trailer. The rest, it's just generic space wars, with a corrupt government thing, and nobody brave in there anymore, because they've all been replaced, or whatever. Not a very interesting show, really. But, the bits of their lives in retirement is great. Just make that the whole show, CBS. Star Trek: Retirement.
