His were more of a silver grey, these are like the grey you prime something before you paint it. It’s not exactly that they’re grey, it’s what color grey they are.
I actually agree. If the TR version hadn’t had the turret just hanging off the underside of the jet mode then it would have been great. But that just ruined it for me. WfC leaders offer a chance to fix (Bob Morton’s) mistake.
3 Autobots (Op, 35th Op, Springer) vs 11 Decepticons (Megs, 35th Megs, Soundwave, Soundblaster, 6 seekers, Apeface). If you include Selects then you add 2 more Decepticons (Megs and Redwing) Honestly, only the Deluxes were Autobot heavy. Voyagers were Decepticon heavy. Battle- and Micro- master classes were about even, as were Leaders.
Not true at all. I was just playing about with G1 Blitzwing last night as he's still my defacto Blitzwing. You can slide the tank turret off and put it to the side. Sure it then is a bit of a partsformer but I'll take that over A GIANT TURRET HANGING OFF THE UNDERSIDE OF A JET any day.
Except the tank turret is needed for the jet mode to sit properly. Just because you choose to take it off doesn't mean that's not its proper resting place. If partsforming is allowed we might as well just strip all the kibble off TFs and call it "transforming." Hell, why not make all vehicle modes just shells with a folded up robot inside that you open like a lunch box? The turret also isn't that giant. It's smaller and flatter than the G1 figure's.
Actually, if those Earth Seekers are single-seater base variants of the F-15 line then they won't be that much out of scale as Voyagers... It's just that Diaclone/G1 toys were made after a single-seat variant used by JSDF but all TF media appearances starting with Marvel G1 had their alt modes drawn after a more known later two-seater version.
And that's just nonsense. Mine sits just fine without the turret on it in jet mode. Sure he might wobble but again he doesn't have a turret on his underside. I'm really not sure what part of I PERSONALLY THINK THAT LOOKS F'ING RIDICULOUS that you don't get. If you don't mind it, you can have your TR. I'm not trying to take that away from you. I think it's completely dumb and it turned me off of the entire figure. As a result, I would hope that ER can do better. Man, can you strawman or ridcutio ad absurdum any harder? I don't have a problem with taking one piece off and laying it to the side because I think it looks better that way and suddenly I want all transformers to be Beast Wars: Retrax. Somebody better call up Hasbro and tell them to stop the entire WfC Leader class because apparently they missed your memo.
If I recall correctly for POTP Optimus, the lower arms were on the other side of big pieces of the trailer, so the hands had to be grey unless they received a paint application (the forearms were painted red). Since this is a simple molding choice (or not so simple, maybe? since it ended up this way at all)... hoping it does indeed result in a change.
Not as ridiculous as a tank without a turret. So wait, are you saying the TR figure would be better if you could just take the turret off? But all the Leader WFCs have full alternate modes with or without the added armour/alt mode extensions, so your argument doesn't really work there because a tank isn't a tank without a turret.
Can someone get a good look at Primes arms and hands? I wanna know if his hands are mushroom pegs or pinned. If they’re on mushroom pegs I can probably swap them out with Siege Optimus Hands.
Not quite... the F-15 had single- and two-seat variants from Day One, the main tell is the weights (the "bullet" looking things) on top of the fins. US Eagles have a fat fin-pod on the left side for jammers, almost all others just have two ballast weights (the "skinny" pod). Any F-15 can carry the FAST-pack external tanks as seen on MP-03, just that in regular practice only Strike Eagles, a few export models and one or two single-seater squadrons usually do. For example, the only difference between F-15J (single seat, equivalent to US F-15C) and F-15DJ (two-seater, straight US F-15D other than the fin-pod) is the canopy and upper forward fuselage. F-15E and its derivatives (which are really almost all non-US/Israeli/Japanese Eagles) also have a significantly reinforced structure because of their much heavier average loadouts.
Yes? Wait are you thinking that I'm saying I wish the figure didn't have a turret at all? Your reading comprehension is really confusing. I am saying that the TR version in which the turret is not removable looks like trash while in jet mode. I wish that there was an option to remove the turret completely while in that mode just as you can in the original G1 figure. You would then have a streamlined jet without a TANK TURRET HANGING OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE FUSELAGE. You would then be able to place the turret piece back on the figure when you wanted to have him in tank mode and--if you so chose-robot mode. I am also saying that considering the way Leaders currently work, I would be hopeful that a new Blitzwing would be made that incorporated such a feature.
Maybe. But the fact that Cyberverse Optimus toys and the Earthrise Optimus are going grey-handed, that really bothers me for some reason. Yeah, there are cheap Optimus figures out there that feature red, silver, you-name-it colors. But this one smells like a trend.
No, but if you actually want your figures to transform and not cheat, you'd have to accept one mode to be compromised. You seem to not understand me: triple changers will always be compromised in one mode because you can rarely fit a whole other vehicle seamlessly into another. T30 Blitzwing tried to incorporate the turret and look what happened there. The jet mode was still compromised but in a different way. I just don't understand why you'd wish for a new Blitzwing to have removable parts rather than wish it simply hid those parts better.
I feel like the Turret should split in half, and then move to each side of Blitzwing, with Wings coming out from under it, and the Canon part going under the turret instead.
What's funny is you talk about this, but there were people throwing fits about Titans Return because the Headmaster made it a "parts former" and many of the figures couldn't transform without taking it off. Nah, it's fine the way it is. A removable accessory would make more sense in the long run, but it's not worth revisiting the character *just* for that. At least with Astrotrain the payoff to revisiting it so soon was a much more well defined train mode. But Blitz's jet and tank were pretty solid even with the barrel there in jet mode. Nobody's done it yet, but I'd love to see him side by side with Titans Optimus. I'm pretty sure he's at least a shared engineering figure...if not an extensive retool (hence the added costs).
Oh I can totally understand, especially when this new Earthrise Optimus Prime is so close to being the perfect Optimus. Yellow eyes aside, if the colors remained as they were in the render it would be a slam-dunk.
Aside from the more obvious like Blitzwing, Battlechargers, Fasttrack and the Conehead Seekers - what do we think are the chances Hasbro revisits the Insecticons? Or goes deep cut with the deluxe Insecticons (which can be done now thanks to the fact that the Harmony Gold case set a precedence that Bandai can't come after Hasbro for creating toys of the characters they own based on previously shared IP designs)?
