This whole Force Friday thing is a joke. Disney tries to create all of this hype and the stores aren’t even putting it out.

I ordered the Mandalorian figure from Amazon.com late last night. So I’m all good. I’ll get the LEGO sets I want at some point. Would like to get the Obi one, Falcon and Ren’s shuttle.

I'd say the hype worked. Every store I went to today was completely cleaned out. Even the non first edition black series were gone. No doubt they will be easily acquired in the future but their sales today had to be a big success.

Total haul today. Stopped at a few more places, but nothing else. Nowhere was completely cleaned out, but I didn't see any white boxes, any Mando stuff, or any Carbonized figures. I only really wanted SS Carbonized, but I'm still gonna open her because she's a decent army builder. The Jet Trooper I'll probably open up tonight, unless anyone is interested in a trade...

This is what I meant was cleaned out. The blankets, plushes, sabers, and Legos were aplenty.

But she's a unique character not a generic soldier?

An army of her would look pretty cool I guess.

All of the Inquisitors wear different outfits (particularly in the head area) but they are all more or less typical Imperial 1945-chique military garb with that distinctly ridiculous rotating saber. So until they actually to making more of the Inquisitorius, duplicates will do the trick.

Also "army build" for me means "basically two you can stand on either side of a leader." Exempla Gratia:

This FF stuff has been overwhelming for me, as I don’t collect SW as heavily as you guys lol. So, sorry if this is a dumb question, but what’s y’all’s opinions on the figures so far? I’m really wanting Mandolorian, sith trooper, SS Inquisitor, and Rey and Kylo.

SS Inquistor I’m more intrigued by because of her helmet. I know nothing else about her besides she’s in the new game. The figure looks awesome, but I also don’t know if it’s worth hunting down or paying $20 for. The sith trooper looks great, especially the carbonized, but I’m also debating the SHF version, which I know is shorter. Honestly though, Hasbro’s looks really great and the disparity between each figure is pretty narrow it seems. Kylo and Rey I want, but part of me wants to see the movie first before I get them. Also very tempted by the SHFs, but idk if they’d scale correctly with other Star Wars figures (I only own Marvel SHFs).

So that leaves Mandalorian, whom I’m sure SHF will make at some point, but the only real improvement I could see is hip articulation and the cape. The Black Series one looks great, and I don’t even need the carbonized necessarily, just a copy of him.

So Star Wars aficionados, tell me your opinions!

Just opened my Vintage collection Lando Skiff Guard and was surprised to see he does NOT come with his Blaster. He has the open holster on his hip, but no gun. I checked a few reviewers to see if mine was a fluke, but sadly it was not. Just an FYI.

The whole reason why I ordered two of each of those Inquisitor Sisters at least :D  A shiny one and then a regular one to stand with...oh...whoever :lol

Aside from the coolness factor, you already know I troop build, so the Sith troopers are a no brainer for me. The Mandalorian? Oh come on...that's also a no brainer because...well...to be honest (and only from my perspective on this), from the very get go of Boba, most of us liked not just his back story, but his armor. Then came his father's armor, Jango (even though not many people care as much for him as they did for Boba). We all knew that the Clone Troopers' armor were based off of the mandalorian armor so there's a mystical badassery about it to begin with. It's their armor's origin. So now we get another armor from that very culture. So I think it's probably a good reason (amongst others) of why the figure itself is sought after.

Speaking of which, my order for the Carbonized Mandorlian shows backordered :lol  Which is ok...because they at least didn't cancel my order. I only got the Carbonized one because I'm a sucker for these kinds of exclusives. I didn't care for the other characters other than the ones I put in orders for. The Sith trooper looked like a hybrid between clone trooper (thanks to the helmet design) and an updated storm trooper armor. Eh...variety. Right?

Are there any brick and mortar stores that are actually carrying the Black Series Elite Kylo Ren Lightsaber? I checked all the Targets and GameStops near me today and none of them had it. I'm assuming now that it's online only.

not really a Disney thing, more of a habro/lucasfilm thing. Before it was Force Friday it was Midnight Madness for movie tie-in releases. I have gone to these for years and on release day there is always a figure or wave that is scarce but supply always catches up with demand.
I went to several stores today and saw pretty much everything except Carbonized Mando but Target exclusives always restock so I'm not worried.
Was at Disney store at opening and they only had to FE Mando's out, I grabbed one and another guy grabbed the other after I did. I got the Triple Force Friday lithos with my purchase too. Grabbed the one regular edition Mando at Barnes & Noble, that one I plan on opening.

I saw two at Gamestop in my area. So it may just be based on location. That and the Gamestop I went to got a bunch of stuff in and they've been sorting through it all day. Told me they had Fox but had no idea where he was.

Yeah I figured GameStop would be the best bet since they carry the Black Series Lightsabers there.

But those also don't cost $300 like the Kylo Elite does which is why I was thinking maybe they don't want something that pricey hanging out in the store. I guess I'll just have to call around and see.

I definitely want Mando, I’ll probably try to order him tonight if I can find him. And I do want Sith trooper too, I just can’t decide if I should get the black series or the SHF. What do you think, given your experience with both? I’m not gonna army build (gotta save $$ for other lines), so realistically I’m only gonna get one, two at most.

My meager haul for the day. The Second Sister Inquisitor was an impulse purchase just because she looked cool in hand. Not sure she'll be worth the Gamestop markup, but still cool for the collection.

I also got one of those Screamsabers for my daughter as a Birthday or Christmas present. I like to get her something unexpected and she's been in love with the Rey lightsaber I bought her from Five Below a few months back.

Pretty much me right here. I don't collect, but this FF got me interested in some figures. Mostly Rey and SS Inquisitor.
SSI just looks cool to me. Know nothing of her backstory.
Rey, well, I wouldn't mind having a Rey figure. Just wouldn't go with anything I'm collecting.
Trying to find some good reviews or some cool posed photos of these figures.

Right now, Amazon has a $10 off promo for spending $40 on select SW and Frozen items and both those figures fall into the promo.... but I would have to add something thats 2 cents and up since both figures are $19.99.

Ha The cheapest item in the promo is a 3.75" General Hux for less than $3. Total would come out to under $36 for Rey, SSI, and Hux though. Not bad even if Hux wasn't included.

SHF and BS aren't actually as different in scale as Marvel Legends and SHF are.

Sith Trooper: SHF has lots of weapons (and probably better articulation to use them) but in terms of on-shelf appearance I'm not sure that the extra money gets you much extra visual appeal. Especially compared to the Carbonized trooper, which appears to be the most dramatic of the series.

Inquisitor: My favorite of the lot, and the only one ai actually have. I really want the Carbonized version, but the regular version is as good as any other Black Series figure. Lots of contrasting finishes to break up the all black ensemble. Takes a lot of doing to get her to hold that saber. Wound up using Vader's saber as a spacer to help. The red on her visor is great, almost looks translucent.

Kylo: a tough one considering how many figures he has. TFA Kylo Ren was an easy win for Black Series, because the Figuarts release was swimming in hard plastic robes. TLJ was the year he took of his mask, but the year before Black Series started doing face printing (which I'll talk about when we get to Rey). Ben still doesn't have any figures with it, because all his figures since then have been masked. So that one goes to SHF. Now, the SHF has a fabric cape with a bendy wire, while the Black Series is hindered by plastic robes. The SHF also has an unmasked head. Also this BS one's head is kind of big, which is peculiar to me. I guess it's a new mold for this year.

Rey: unlike Kylo, Rey has lots of different colors that Figuarts' paint work can really blow Hasbro away with. That's why, despite gushing about Kylo's new figure, I'd be more likely to get SHF Rey than him. I have both of their TLJ SHFs. If we're to compare just these two, SHF has the option to display her hood up and comes with Han's gun. BS has the face printing I was talking about earlier. I might actually like it better than Bandai's. TLJ Rey's isn't bad, but overall, I find it a little cleaner. You probably have experience with that if you collect Marvel Figuarts. But overall I think SHF is the better investment here. For both ST protags I would wait until after the movie, because who knows what else we'll get with those two.
