So question for any of you customizers out there buying this-is anyone planning on turning one of these into the Armada version? That color scheme hurts my eyes but I’m sure someone out there will do it.

 

I think most of us can discern that if Unicron is standing RIGHT BEHIND Fort Max, the visual angle effectiveness will be miniscule. Unicron really, REALLY isn't that much larger than a standard titan. He's a LOT heavier, though. Just don't stand him with the other titans in your collection or else he'll look dynamically smaller.

Just as Optimus Prime changed the course of the battle of Autobot City, I'm glad the tide has turned for this campaign and the repetitious posts along the lines of "I don't think this project will make it" has all but disappeared and now fans are pretty much bracing for the inevitiable and preparing themselves for the arrival of the World Eater! For me it's always been the thought that this project will show that we TF fans are just as as much as a force as the Star Wars fans (pun intended), a transforming Unicron is so much more impressive than the Sail Barge! if the Unicron campaign had indeed failed I would still have the Takara version on display as a consolation but now it seems that the brand is very healthy and the future possibilities are endless (Scorponok for one example!) Glad the backers came together and made a financial sacrifice to make this happen! Having been a classics collector since 2006, this centerpiece will be the culmination of my collection!

there would be no takara version of this unicron without the haslab one, all of the takara marketing calls it the haslab unicron

 

Technically a stretch goal could be a whole new announcement so it could stand alone from what this video covers. They also might not want to announce any stretch goals (let's say 10K) unless they're already basically guaranteed for it to make that goal. Otherwise we're just going to get a bunch of complaining that whatever it was should be included anyway for the price we're paying. I've long come to peace with how expensive this is, but we can all agree that it's a lot of money and some folks will never be convinced it's worth that much no matter what bonuses they add in.

You are getting into subjective territory here. You are deciding what parts of the figure count when measuring. If you want to say, “well, I personally don’t count wings or horns when measuring Transformers size” that’s great, but it’s not wrong for other people to measure tip to tip on these things. I think we can all agree that this guy is the tallest and widest official Transformer (you can quibble on margins based on your own definitions) and is the heaviest Transformer of any kind.

I know some people might not like me saying this but I don't care. What is the possibility that Hasbro will fudge the numbers if this thing only gets like 7,700 backers when the time expires ? Haslab needs a win after cookie monster failed. And are they really going to give up a 4 million dollar payday over 3 or 3 hundred units ? If they said f**k it and fudged the numbers, who would ever know ? Maybe some Hasbro executive on his death bed will break the news 20 years later and say it was all about the money and failing was not an option. And if they wanted to do it, it would be totally within their right whether they did it on the sneak or blatantly announced "were gonna do it anyways". It would be a smart business decision. Thats just food for thought. Either way, I got me pre-order done the first hour the project was announced. I think I was like backer number 67 or something like that. But I dont buy into all this blind faith crap. Unicron is getting made no matter what happens when the time expires.

 

It's a struggle, for me DC Universe and GI JOE came to a close but I still have Transformers of course as well as Marvel Legends, Mythic Legions and autographs!
