Yea, that Sideswipe was the one I was looking into. Must have been where I heard that from. Glad to hear its gotten better.

Does it feel at least decent quality in person? Like not cheap feeling?

MF UM face/head base on MP22 is a huge improvement over MST. Mine is shipped from China, that's going to be some few days or week before I'll see him.
I haven't seen any photo yet, can MF UM silver toon rifle store on top/between the trailer stack like the white gun?
Although I'm thinking of getting the MST UM toon color as well, the large hole on the front of trailer really bug when the missile launcher is configured in toon mode. Will have to see how that look in person once MF UM arrives to me.
If MST releases that black version, it would be so bought. My Heerotoymaker WST G1 UM black version below needs a companion. I may even skip their toon color version since MF UM2.0 will be suffice for now.

I didn't try, but from the looks of it, I don't think so.

all this cheap plastic talk about MFT is a little exaggerated. their bots are pretty damn great and one of the more solid lines out there especially for the price.

the only misstep they had is the sideswipe bot. but even then i dont think he was that bad. but i do think they fudged up trying to play the MS game and that is kind of where they are now.

but moving forward i feel astro and rodimus will be the next major chapter of their book and i can not wait.

How do you think they messed up with MS? Do you mean the scaling of their cars and minibots?

let's not forget that MFT had a solid figure (at least in my book) with Hound before they started churning out these MST KOs

I don't disagree, but MFT has had solid bots even before Hound. Omega Supreme for example is pretty awesome. And I like the MFT Inferno and Grapple quite a bit, more so than my PPTs which I am planning to sell. I didn't get MS versions of those, not my scale. I do have a few MS bots and I gotta be honest, they do look the part well but they are almost always loose and have a different kind of "cheapness" because of it. Everytime I get and handle a new MFT release I feel very satisfied with the quality-to-price value.

I don't understand this cheap plastic talk. I've been buying the figures since the regular machine boy days and the plastic was always really good. Some joints may be too tight or too loose at times but other than that I've had no complaints in that regard

Mine arrived in PA today. Had 10 mins with him at lunch, so sorry to leave you guys blue and hanging on proper vehicle pics til tonight.

Quick thoughts: same plastic as their recent Blaster, Grapple. Same super-tight joints (mushrooms especially), but not to any detriment. I think they did a great job on this update, but I think vehicle mode may still be a tad undersized for some:

What? You didn't think she was into that sorta thing?

In case anyone is wondering, I did some shoddy science here..

This would be a 129% size increase. Rad, right?

    Untitled19.jpg
But this would be about what bot mode looked like.

I was afraid he was still going to be too small. The trade off is not enough for me to replace my MS Magnus.

Mine is taking its sweet time. It was in Spartanburg, SC this morning, so probably not going to see it until Monday is my guess. Feeling a bit jealous over here. LOL

He may still not measure up in alt mode but I'm still liking the scale of the MFT KO over MST (and the added details). I did skip the MST one entirely in favor of this one even though it meant waiting. I have most of their other figures so I don't feel too guilty about skipping Magnus.

Because Ultra Magnus is my favorite, and the first renders of this design were so drool-worthy at the time, I got the MST Original on preorder last fall. Because I was at TFCon the week it was released, I picked one up there too. Now I have an extra that's still MISB, thought I would be able to sell it. Didn't know of this OR the PPT one, so I basically whiffed on any attempts at being clever. This really frustrates me because I could have gotten the elusive Lambros or IF Drift with the money I spent on TWO MST Magnuses when they were brand new.

Moral of the story? It's all a GAMBLE!!! You never know what's gonna be a hit, what's gonna be a miss, or what's gonna be OSKO'ed. I have buddies that call the 3p Legends scene "a sh!tshow" for reasons like this. Just adds to the Collecting experience/Fandom experience IMHO.

All that said, I have one of these MFT 2.0's on the way. Will fit RIGHT in with my Season 3+ collection. :)
