You're right. You can see them best in the slow mo transform. They're barrels up at the start, and he does indeed reach underarm to pull them off his back, and puts them back over the shoulder, making them barrel down. I also just noticed an animation mistake for the first time in that clip. When Ironhide gets hit by the spike, his guns are back on his back for that brief shot (and look to be barrel down).

I have to agree with you about Hide Shadow, he is amazing. I removed all the misspelled decals and added new ones from Ebay. it makes all the difference. he is even in scale with the Deluxe SS cars. (in vehicle mode that is) he is a figure I would recomend getting.

I think I agree with all but Megatron. He’s a good figure sure, but he’s pretty inaccurate. The shoulders are the wrong shape, the skirt armour is too big and the fusion cannon is hilariously misshapen.

To add on to the list though, I'd say 100% HFTD Fallen. All he needs is a better spear and a new paint job really.

I’m somewhat hoping that Hasbro announces they’re going to be releasing the next wave of Studio Series figures around November or December of this year. My unrealistic hope is that they add them to Pulse for purchase at some point this weekend.

Now that the Hightower wave has been out for roughly a month and seems to have found saturation in stores, it’s rather weird that we’re going to have to wait 3 more months for the next wave. I could be wrong, but I don’t remember having to wait that long for the next wave of figures (at least on purpose and not through crappy distribution).

I’m actually at the live show waiting. I’ll let you know what they say.

Well my Amazon preorder for the deluxe wave says they'll arrive by November 7th, but Amazon can't usually be relied on for accurate pre order windows for these things.

I could be wrong on this as well but I think there's a pretty good chance we'll see the next wave by November. Based on the trends, Wave 3 came out August of 2018 and Wave 4 came around that following November so there's some precedent for it.

As far as NYCC goes I'm fine if we just get some clearer looks at the new wave of figures and maybe have #48 revealed. I think most of the focus for the show will be on Siege though. Seems like the big reveals are every other show for the two collector lines.

I think Hide Shadow looks very impressive. I wonder if there is anything Hasbro/Takara/3P/KO could do to further improve this figure as an "official" MPM release, or if they will even bother to do so. At this point, I haven't seen any indication they plan to release an MPM Blackout/Grindor.

I don't know, I guess they may scale him more accurately, maybe figure a way to get rid of the parts-forming, and a clever way to hide the backpack/tail.

    Any other thoughts?

I can’t say I’m surprised. I figured NYCC would mostly focus on Hasbro’s reveal of their upteenth rehashing of G1 Earth Rise toyline for WFC.

    Honestly this.

It's for this reason why I enjoy the movie lines so much more. There are so many creative designs and new smart engineering tricks being implemented just from a toy engineering perspective. I respect G1 and the people who appreciate those designs but I'm at a point where I feel like I've seen just about every version of G1 Prime there could be.

Funny you mention that, as my favorite G1 prime is actually a studio series figure lol.

All things considered, it's different lines for different people/needs. We got some nice stuff last time, now it's WFC's turn. Let's just hope the next showing is for us again. If that's the case, I'm totally fine with an alternating schedule.

Yeah, it's bad because Hubcab was a Scout class figure, which retailed for something like $7.99, and Jazz is a Deluxe class figure, which is a size class up, and who retails for $19.99.

Don't get me wrong, Jazz looks great, but man, do i wish he were the same size as the original deluxes. Would certainly make deciding what figures to keep and what figures to sell easier.

In fairness, we did get a lot of Studio Series stuff revealed not long ago at the Canada expo or whatever it was called, and prior to that too, but nothing Siege/Earth Rise related, so it’s only fair that the G1 Generations figures get their chance too

I think the reason we're getting so much g1 is just that it sells really well with collectors as well as kids. But I honestly wanna just see some more original designs for figures, even if they aren't for the movie verse
