So the company can put almost $4 millon on the books...no brainer.  This thing is getting made and they are milking it for even more by trying to make people think it won\'t get made if they don\'t get another 1000 people.  No company is turning down $4 million when the costs are nowhere near that.

Where are my fellow math nerds to help speculate how much interest Hasbro could have made on backer cash in this campaign?

Even if it fails they would still make revenue then.

Hasbro isn’t precharging until the campaign is successful and over. They only preauthorized the payments.

1 meter tall? Would have been $2000 per backer

I feel they extended it as they saw people did want it, but realized they needed more time to say yes. If the end of the original backing had been half of what it was in the end, even with other sellers, not a chance of him having been extended. They saw the interest and knew to work with the customer over telling them their word is final

You're speculating and assuming. You have no idea what the price points will be later. Realistically, etailers probably won't be asking any different than the $775 charged now. If Hasbro releases overproduction, it'll probably also be $575 it is now. I'm speculating too, but mine is likely more realistic based on past history and trends. There's also other economic factors involved that could entirely negate your assumption that it'll double/whatever in price. If a recession does hit, good luck with that.

You're rude, and your attitude in this thread sucks. Either stop with the toxic comments, or just stop replying to me at all.

    Disprove it.

I don't think we'll have to even wait that long. This adult nostalgia trend will either die out, or at very least swap to Millennials instead of GenXers at some point. Aging has a way to add perspective, and most people downsize belongings as they get older.

Also a reason for me not to back.
I thought about going so far as to remove or break off kibble, but it's just too noisy because of all the rubbery nibs.

I would love to see a complete line of these slug figures. Perfect for titans and Unicron. Blind packs of 5 for $10 would sell like bananas.

Actually, in 30 years, production of new plastic will be banned, with overpopulation and global warming, kids will never know the feeling of having a toy (this being the golden era). Unicron will be an heirloom going for 10000$. A legacy for my children to inherit.

Proud to be (a repeat) backer #7000:cool:

Btw, the slugs are not really "in-scale", remember how they broke out of Unicron's single eye? But man they're tiny (in a good way)!!
