Hey guys, I'm new to the boards and just wanted to show some pictures of my Laevatein now that I have an account: I'm pretty proud of these. Do you normally just post them all at full size like this or do you use thumbnails?
Great pictures of a great kit! Yeah, full size images make for the best "viewing" experience. Those FMP models were awesome, shame there were only really the two base bodies.
Up to your discretion based on the situation. Also, probably divisive opinion: The Arbalest was a better design than the Laevatein. Pale Rider just came out in MobaBreaker and the gacha is bullshit, so next kit decided since I finished what I was working on. Had to really reach back into the backlog, I couldn't remember which box this was stored in.
Yep, they do, pretty much why I even bought both kits in the first place was to put the perfect striker on the HGCE one
Pla Act Gaou from Plum. Pla Act is (was?) a line of robot kits built around a base body. It sorta similar to 30MM in design, but more like FA in build. Most of them were based on Sengoku warriors, but the most recent were a pair of Western knights and random lion transformer. The company showed off a proto for another one some time ago, but I think the line might be dead.
I LOVE the Leo kit. My current favorite Gunpla. Its so simple and well put together that, except for the hands, it feels like an action figure. If you want to take it up a notch, consider spraying it down with some flat spray like this https://www.amazon.com/Tamiya-Spray...ya+clear+coat&qid=1570043848&s=gateway&sr=8-3 Its a simple thing to do and will give your model a painted look. Or at least, take away from that bare, unpainted, plastic look. (A black wash before or after also helps - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CL0ZOVM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - Literally just take this watered down black paint and slop it on your kit, coating it, let it dry for a few minutes and then wipe off excess with a cloth)
Thanks! Even though they're technically the same base bodies I love how different Laevatein is constructed from Arbalest. Really didn't expect it to have that much color separation. But yeah I would've loved a Savage, Codarl or even a Behemoth. And I still haven't given up hope on a Belial from Bandai. But in the end I'm happy we got any FMP kits from Bandai at all, they blow Aoshima/Kotobukiya out of the water. Don't know how divisive, I personally feel the same way. Laevatein feels kinda unfinished and out of place in terms of colour and design, but I guess that makes sense in relation to the story. I do think they're both great designs.
Yes. and leftover Chinese Food takeout containers for parts I cut from the runners and put aside or work on seperately.
...This seems phallic and I apologize... I'm working on thruster nozzles and wanted to get this part out of the way first.

Setting the Funnels in place.. I'm not going ro spend much effort in detailing them on the back ends as I would on say the canister types of Sazabi or the Jagd Doga because they really don't need it. As it is, their display feature of being in flight, using the expansion set would cover up the undersides and prevent their unpainted areas from being seen. I put some paint down the barrels and clipped a cotton tip so when I cleaned off the excess paint, it only took it off from the beveled edge on the ends. Aside note, @Wrecker217 the binders have a certain angle in which they seat, however once you mount the verniers and Funnels, they start sagging and risk loosening their grip. When I approach the point of completion, I'm cementing them in place. Next, the full body breakdown for convenience in mounting the thruster bells. While I was at it, touched up the paint in a few areas and painted over some sloppy panel lining. This also includes painting the vents on the sides of the chest with some yellow(orange-ish) paint so they match the ones on the front skirts. Last thing I did tonight, the hands.. the MP-2 multigate, fully articulates fingers. A marvel of engineering.. a bane to clean up properly. On one hand, pun unintended, you can see from the amount of sprue injection points for each and every individual phalanx why Bandai opted to scale back to fixed pose hand parts that are easier to manufacture and also less tedious for the average builders. Once I finally got the sprue nubs clipped and shaved off, I sanded the fingers smooth. Interesting note about the Nightingale's backhand covers is the wrist is molded in a way to clip into the wrist post, preventing the wrists from going limp while holding its long rifle or tomahawk.
I'll have to keep that in my mind, thanks! I had intended to get the Funnel effect parts as well, which no doubt would've added even more weight onto them.
