Hasbro can tell a better story than Takara.
Takara can make better toy than Hasbro.
    Generally speaking.

hasbro developed the overall story for the series and concepts for the figures (much like they do today), then contracted takara to engineer the figures (much like they do today) find a studio to make the show. when it came to galaxy force/cybertron, hasbro had already been marketing it as a sequel, takara ignored hasbros direction that it was a sequel and let gonzo develop a story that was unconnected. hasbro then had to do damage control with the dub (to varying degrees of success). the overall arrangement was hasbro came up with the ideas, takara implemented them. takara ignored hasbros input and hasnt really had a say in global media since

I’m still baffled as to why Hasbro didn’t redeco Hound into Energon Ironhide instead of a character whose toy’s alternate mode wasn’t even shown in the show. Plus the fact that Ironhide was far more of a main character in Energon than Hot Shot was.

Um... Hot Shot in Cybertron was a main character and both of his Alt modes showed up a lot.

Also no one likes Energon Ironhide. And I mean NO ONE. I’m pretty sure there is even a law against liking Energon Ironhide or Kicker.

Also, the main reason why is because we have known since Hound came out, they had an alternate head for Hot Shot for him. So as Thanos said before “It is Inevitable”

Whoops. I haven’t seen Cybertron so I stand corrected.

Oh yeah, I remember that facial sticker! Kinda looks like the devil worshipping cousin of Turbo from the Go-Bots.

If you go through with buying two Siege Cromars to repaint one of them to more closely match your old KO toy I'd love to see the results.

Skipped (for now) Chromia and two of her retools as well as Megatron from this line. Cromar is a must, but don't have any tie to Hot Shot and the Hound mold isn't anything special IMO, so that one will be a likely pass. Hope I am around when these things go hot online cause it would suck to get 2/3 of the Powerdashers.

I hated Energon Ironhide on the show, but I actually quite liked his toy. Once you got past the really stupid head design, the rest of his body was great, especially when he became the lower half of Jetfire or Cliffjumper.

Hot Shot is an easy pass because I don't collect Armada...but Chroma...may need to pick him up to to complete the Power Dashers figure series

If I get Hot Shot I\'d never see him as Hot Shot, I\'d just see him as Exigeyser. mostly because Hot Shot sounds better for a car mode than a military vehicle.

On one hand I really want a new Hotshot. But on the other hand this does not really scratch that itch. The Hound mold just doesn\'t work for it. Honestly I feel like Demolishor, Armada Scavenger, or even an Armada/cybertron Red Alert would have worked. Actually best case would have been Armada Smokescreen from this.

Are the original (G1) Powerdashers better than these updated Siege figures?

I never owned the originals, so I wonder what kind of quality they were.

Not really... they're pretty crappy even by blocky G1 standards

Dollar store toys. Fairly good body proportions and sturdy, but next to none articulation. Also, GoBot faces (except even worse because stickers).

But they were cheap giveaways from coupons from original figures and their KOs were plentiful too. So... Nothing to write an epic about, but lots of people has emotional attachment to those non-characters.

Are these figures exclusive to the show?  If they are going to enjoy a wider spread release then I will hold off.  If they are exclusive to the show then I will pick them up this week.
