perhaps this will lead to the transformer my son keeps bugging me about, the cerebros that turns into a mini fortress maximus.

Shockwave was interesting. Indeed if sold on his own he would've been fine since the extra pieces weren't necessary but dear lord if they weren't fun. Putting together the full ship mode felt great and hey, if you didn't want to do that? You technically had his gun mode still as an option in terms of how you orient the hose and his position. Also, the extra pieces do good to play into his modern interpretation as being an extremely loyal mad scientist who's always experimenting so I can totally picture him making extra weapon arms and armor.

I was expecting to see Bee and Wheeljack for the same reason, but I probably wouldn't have gotten them. There are a few characters I don't mind have duplicates of. For instance I wouldn't hold it against Has/Tak if they did another run of Hound and Ultra-Magnus. Loved the Siege designs, just want both done a-la-earthrise too. For me though it has less to do with the characters and more to do with the figures. I was born after G1 so I have no attachment to it as an IP, I just like some of the designs.

I would buy Siege Ultra Magnus with an Earth mode in a heartbeat.

I've done it every 4-5 years actually.

Been doing it about 15 years now.

Might be the program they use for drawing the model. Basically from PC to factory. It is the same with HunGurr and the new Snaptrap. They are drawing from Silverbolt who is now already a few years old! It is impressive how they work now. Since looking at for example G1 Blast off and Vortex, clearly they borrow the same design choices yet are not as accurately taken from one another as is done with these modern figures. Technology at its finest. And also more is possible with plastic these days " trial and error".

Only if they do it parts former style like they did with siege. I like having the little albino Prime that can power up using the trailer as armour. It's one of my hopes that they will do this with MP magnus 3.0 if that ever becomes a thing.

Is strange that Ironworks is missing the red Satellite Dish?

That is so hard for me. Oddly I get attached to figures. Like I do with all the toys I got from my childhood since they got certain sentimental value. I got to say that collecting isn't actually the same thing but what I get from other people I cannot let go. Like from my late aunts or grandfather. I can't imagine selling my Computron set from 1986. I know you are talking about Generations stuff. But yeah selling a figure is just not in me. Also I don't eyeball stuff out of other peoples collections. A friend of the family has that issue with people visiting him. He has a lego collection dating to the 70s with mint in box as well. Jaw dropping how big his collection still is " he sold some of it to pay for his wedding". But he told me that many of the collectors in the community that come to his place mainly come to see if they can pry something off him. My rant going to far but I think each collector has his own way and that I can enjoy. Some go for figure esthetics others for the line up then others scale. reading what people do also helps me in making my own decisions in regard to my own collection.

What makes you replace your figures though? every 4-5 years.

Looking at them now? I see what you mean and honestly that's really cool. It's a shame classes really are just pricepoints these days but if anything I'm all for this style of Voyager, especially when it's something like this Prime.

I'm a fan too, I'm willing to purchase a smaller figure at the old leader price point, especially if the trade off is better build quality, less intrusive gimmicks, less hollow bits, etc.

Grapple looks cool, but, I'm not too interested in him. Glad hes here though for eveyone who was disappointed with the RTS one. Prime is a hard pass for me personally. I love the Siege prime, and while him coming with a trailer is neat, I just don't need a trailer, and it doesn't justify buying the figure again just for a more boring (IMO anyways, I like the Cybertron aesthetic) altmode and 20 USD more. Ironworks is cool, and I love the concept of building bases, but, its a little disappointing when the weaponizers still got vehicle modes and all they get is just the base mode stuff. And considering I'm not really collecting the Micromasters, that part of the bases is lost on me as well.

And, so much for Cybertron Wheeljack. And Cybertron combiners. And a Blaster remold of Soundwave. And Howlback and Garboil. And Wingthing and the Blue Frumble. And...
