G1 Piranacon did it by having strong shoulder joints and no elbows.

No elbows make a big difference. My G1 is prone to tipping if he holds the gun straight out, you have to get it balanced just right.

The easiest solution is probably to have a stronger ratchet in the combiner port so that the arm doesn't fall at the shoulder and then rotate 90 degrees the limb bot waist so the hips and knees don't have to bear the weight of the gun. That would limit King Poseidon to hold his weapon only with the arm straight, but I don't see any cost effective method for Takara to reinforce a deluxe's leg joints enough to hold such a weight, especially considering that even the $500 TFC Poseidon isn't able to do so.

I mean, it'd be pretty G1 accurate for Piranacon to be unable to lift his own weapon.

Huh. I was told something different. I was told that they were, for the time being, remaining Pulse exclusives.

If that were the case then TFSource, Toy Dojo, etc wouldnt be offering them, no?

Entirely possible i suppose, but that still wouldnt support the aforementioned narrative regarding Pulse exclusivity.

Well, to be fair, all of the other places are selling merchandise they do not have on hand. Maybe they're just hoping they'll be able to source it and BBTS is the only one who knows they won't.

Do I believe the above statement to be true? No. Does it still give me some anxiety about my orders placed with TFSource? Yes.

it would if you consider a few examples like redwing being a target redcard exclusive in the states but wide release in hasbro asia regions or the fanvote 3 pack being amazon exclusive but i got one from toydojo with a markup. its possible bbts cant secure the seacons directly and doesnt want to pay a middle man markup that would encroach on their profits from selling the figures

When I tested it on mine, the elbows were the one to give mainly. Not sure if anyone else's limb could hold it up, but mine certainly couldn't. Not sure what Taktomy could have/would have done so he can hold up a limb. not a big deal. The fact that he can "hold" one as a gun is pretty cool.

I got Poseidon a couple of weeks ago and eventually going through time. I'm gonna combine them for the first time tonight so I'll see how he can hold a limb as a gun.

Same for me when I tried, elbows gave up immediately, shoulders fared better but they still only able to barely hold the weight.

As they are, the regular CW/POTP combiners are ... gravitationally challenged... I recommend getting one of those clear plastic figure posing stands to hold up piranacon's gun if you want anything other than a "resting at side" pose

If anyone has a preferred stand for this, it'd probably be appreciated by many if you share the name and a store link...
