Jeez, really pushing that hard g1 80s aesthetic with a Skyfire, not Jetfire! Super neat. Really excited to see what Devy looks like.
If we're basing this hard on the american g1 continuity, makes me wonder what color their Rumble will be; I'm putting my bets on blue this time...

Personally can’t wait for these. It’s all-around so 80’s. Transformers is a no-brainer for a ReAction line. Can’t wait to see the retro style cards.

These look like a whole lot of fun, and I'm hoping they are of good quality, readily available and not stupidly expensive.

I've NEVER understood the hatred toward Action Masters...It absolutely eludes me. I loved Action Masters, PVC figurines of all kinds.

Weird thought. What if THIS LINE is where we get Quintessons?

Never occurred to me the TF Reaction figs would go that deep with the roster until I saw Alpha Trion on this list.

I guess I'm in the minority. I see zero appeal to anything this company makes.

I am there with you. Someone got me "The Gimp" from Pulp Fiction for my birthday, and I picked up Johnny Lawrence Karate Kid one at the thrift for a buck (that I should probably sell).

When I first clicked on the link I was thinking "cool, actionmasters", but these are a substantial step down from those IMO.

I don't have a problem with them, but these aren't as good as Action Masters; they had knees and elbows.

No elbows. But their thighs were on an O-ring.

In general, I'd like this better if they were 4.5-5.5 inches (my favorite retro action figure height) and sculpted a bit more posed (Secret Wars, He-Man, even Super Powers had some posing).

I think what turns me off is that most Reaction figures are sculpted to match 70s/80s Star Wars figures, which I always disliked.

That said, these are pretty different from the typical Reaction figure.

    Off the cuff, I'd consider:

Quintessons, characters with no alt mode in G1 like Alpha Trion or Elita One, G1 humans, Pretenders, maybe minibots...? Honestly, no Generations Minibot will probably ever satisfy how kibble free I want them to be or be small enough (without being too small) but this Bumblebee looks to be about the size I'd want G1 Bumblebee.

A part of me wishes they'd use the scale chart on this and base it around Optimus/Megatron/Starscream being around 3 3/4 inches, which would make Skyfire around 7 and Bumblebee around 2.5 (which would mean multipacks for smaller figures).

But them cheating everybody close to 3 3/4 means that smaller characters here will work on a CHUG toy shelf.

These are neat, simple, but would make nice little things to put on a shelf.

I agree. It they had that pre-posed stance of late 80's/early 90's I'd be more interested.

The reason I rarely bat an eye over retro figures is how ramrod stiff they always make them. I don't want a whole shelf of dudes standing straight with their arms at their sides.

The funny thing to me is that Super7 makes 5.5 He-Man figures.

I liked the idea on here to do Pretenders in that style but I could see squat, hunched pose Optimus and Megs with a power punch too. Or maybe MOTUC style figs like they’re doing with TMNT. That would be similar to those cool Ex Gokin things. I think you just want to maintain focus on characters who don’t transform well when you look beyond Optimus, Bumblebee, Ironhide/Ratchet, Car Bros., Megatron, Soundwave, Seekers.

Alpha Trion being here is great IMHO. The 86 movie cast and fembots are great. Some of the army builders would be great and Pretenders could be on the same buck as MOTUC and Thundercats.

Oh! And Super7 is announcing Reaction Battle Cat and Panthor at NYCC so maybe vehicles would be good for this line. A 3 3/4” Ark could be their next Snake Mountain (at half the price). Model it on some mix of the Millenium Falcon and The Pit. So you have a not-really-to-scale cockpit and a flip up station with Teletraan1 in the middle. 14” wide by 18” long. 12” flip panel in the middle. Teletraan terminal, medbay.

But maybe you could have smaller vehicle sets like Wreck-Gar.

Not sure it's been mentioned, but if you look on Big Bad's and EE's preorder pages, they list Jazz and Starscream for the first wave in addition to the four prototypes we saw.

3 3/4 still feels a hair tall to me, but perhaps I\'m aligning them to hard with MUSCLE figures and the like.

A Reaction line of the human G1 characters would be perfect:

    Sparkplug
    Spike (1980s & 2005)
    Carly (1980s & 2005)
    Daniel
    Chip
    Raoul w/ boombox Blaster

I would actually be 100% into a motu style transformers line. That would be insanely cool.

Love that they've announced new characters. Also, some characters that wouldn't normally get a run.

Especially since they are known for doing a lot of repaints. Fantastic, I'm in for all.

Not sure I can agree with you entirely, the packaging is so pretty, just leave them MISB. They'll have great shelf presence.
