That's a good perspective and yeah, there's always that nice bonus of, "Well... that's a lot of money freed up for other stuff now!" Lol. I would just feel bad though for those who really, really have their heart set on this. Probably be a while before anyone else creates one this big again.

Unfortunately I do agree. The articulation will obviously be limited. I am still backing this as I know despite its flaws I’d regret this not being a centerpiece of my collection.

Core Star didn't have one of those while all around looking like the better figure that wasn't gonna cost half (More than half in some cases) a thousand dollars. :^)

The deadline was never the problem. Were there really that many people who JFK ave $600 now that they didnt have 3 weeks ago ? Im sure there were a handful who worked overtime or made some spending cuts, and im sure the extension did help. But was this group really ever a super majority ? Its almost like Bugatti Veyron finance payment plans, who uses them ? I think the real problem is Hasbro overestimated the amount of high end collectors world wide with this magic number of 8000 that they pulled out of their ass without doing their homework. They could have easily issued a survey worldwide to get an idea how many people would actually buy this tjing and how much would they be willing to spend. I wouldnt be suprised if the whole crowd fund thing is secretly BS and they are going to build it anyway once they hit at least 6000. It may not be the super 8000 pay day they hoped for, but 6000-7000 will still make a solid profit they can be proud of. Would they really want to miss a chance to call success over 500 missed units ? I dont buy it. I think the remaining backers will mysteriously be added on in the final hours....I'm calling it. And we will never know the number of units that were fake backers. It will be Hasbros dirty little secret that some toy executive will reveal on his deathbed. All I know is I backed the project. But a f**king picture aint gonna make me order a 2nd one. Real talk.

why? all the naysayers were incessant in their arguing that he "needed" the display stand every chance they got without logically thinking about why they might be using the display stand in a high foot traffic convention space where people might bump the case without caring. why exactly should i wait to point out that they were wrong?

 

Yes for me the positive still outweighs the negative and will continue to back no matter the cost. People lets move forward not dancing back and forth  

 

Oh right I forgot about the giant backpack Unicron had back then, and his head sculpt looked better than the lifeless dull-faced HasLab Unicron does with his vacant, empty stare.

So... yeah. A few minor inaccuracies with proportions while otherwise looking amazing makes up for the overpriced and worse-looking official one.

Looking great but it seems we are in roughly the same situation as we were in before the extension time running out and more than 2,000 backers short. I shall keep an eye on this thread to see if it makes it or not.
