I got you covered. Get your rest. Everyone else, listed below is Brutiking’s discovery of paint that can be used on MP-44. Brutiking, if I’ve missed anything, please correct it. Edited to remove quotes.

    Colour matching thus far:
Red: Mr. Hobby Red (3) x1
Yellow: Mr. Hobby Orange Yellow (58) x1, Mr. Hobby Red (3) x1/32(really little bit)

Yellow is mr hobby orange yellow
Grey is a mix that Brutiking believes @Jarrod has.

Mr. Color Light Grey (97): 4
    Mr. Color Black (33): 1 or 2
    Mr. Color Silver (8): 1
Mr. Metal Color Rough Silver (GX 208): 1/32 (little bit)
    Mr. Color Blue FS15050 (328): 1/32

If hand brushed, Italian Red matches better according to @Jarrod. He couldn't match Red when brushing. Brutiking is airbrushing his Red.

Brutiking also has a blue match using Cobalt Blue and another blue I can't recall right now in a 2:3 ratio.

I'd meant to create a thread with just this info on, but just haven't had chance to plough through the pages. Thanks for doing this legwork!

This is for those who have both Megatron and Prime. In your opinion which is more enjoyable to transform and mess with the most? I've seen the videos of Megatron many times and the transformation looks horrific. However, I've seen Prime's videos and his doesn't look near as bad. Probably just answered my own question, but I don't have any first hand experience yet. It looks like I would probably transform Prime many times and Megatron maybe once or twice then never again.

I’d say Megatron is more challenging but that’s due to the transformation needed to be performed in order. He’s more time consuming than anything. Prime is surprisingly intuitive. I was able to transform him without instructions.

This looks great. Thanks so much for doing that for me man. it's close enough.

Awesome! Thanks so much! Such an interesting pose when seen from a different angle. but knowing he can mostly pull it off is good enough for me. :D

Good point about TT and other Japanese companies seemingly skipping a final QC check.

I recently caught up with a friend who’s heavily into model kits and SOC, and when he fiddled with MP-44, he felt that the overall workmanship was very poor. Example, sprue marks on various parts of the figure (even on the chrome), inconsistent paint application etc.

He also noted the possibility that there was hardly (if any) any coating on the figure - resulting in paint chips.

Tbh i kinda regret picking up the first run. In my excitement, i went ahead and PO-ed the first run. I will need to see reviews on the reissue as I’m thinking of picking a second piece.

I transformed Megatron without instructions and just by going on a video. Optimus Prime took me more time, but I agree that he is more intuitive, and I have a feeling I’ll be able to transform him more fluently than I can with Megatron.

Optimus for me...personally I find Megatron rather tedious to transform.

Dr Wu should make some, I'd get a set when I pick up MP44, its the only accessory TakaraTomy missed out on.
If no one does it soon, I might try mock some battle damaged ones up for production.. could be fun to make some G1 MP style packaging for them to come with too.
    We shall see.

Prime's easier to transform for me, truck to bot being pretty smooth at this point though bot to truck is a little trickier in the end getting everything flush. It's been a while since I transformed Megatron but there were at least three or four spots that I found pretty difficult, but again, I'm not very practiced in his transformation. Transformation aside, though, they're both equally enjoyable for me to mess with. They both ooze personality and their hyper articulation and plethora of accessories and gimmicks make for endless posing possibilities. Prime's my favorite figure of all time with Megatron a very close second.

Daaamn! At least if they release a V2 with a knee fix before then, you would be able to exchange it.

This has become my approach too. A V2 and V3 is happening, it's Prime after all. TT is gonna milk this mold for all it is worth. I just don't trust them enough to thrown down that type of money for yet another 1st run QC ridden figure. I'm content to wait as I've tons of other transformers to occupy in the meantime. Plus, I'm also waiting for the inevitable T version.
