Dude, I am in your place. Diehard geewunner.* And guess what? It's no big deal. It's not even a little deal. Different continuities and all that. The existence of other continuities, even stupid ones, doesn't take away from any of the others. I hate the Bay movies (yet I still own most of them on Bluray 'cuz I'm stupid) but I appreciate a few of the designs. I like the Bumblebee movie and I especially like the designs of Bee and Optimus. Doesn't mean that my G1 Optimus and Bumblebee are any less than they used to be and, in fact, the movies are a large part of why Transformers is as big as it currently is and we have masterpiece and legends versions of those characters from Hastak and third parties along with reissues of the G1 versions.

* I also like Transformers Prime and it's the only continuity I really enjoy besides G1.
