Inconsistent how? With qc, how durable plastics are, how mundane the transformations are, or how pointless the parts can be which only exist so they can needlessly jack up the price? If Mp44 was only a cab and gun, it wouldn't surpass $100 by that much, I mean look at ironhide, he came with so much stuff and he's only $90

 

I think he’s saying that takaras pattern of choosing characters is inconsistent

I checked my account and it reads: Release day : Saturday, February 29, 2020, Arriving Mar 3, 2020 - Mar 6, 2020. Is this later than what was originally expected?

MPs pretty much always get released on the last weekend of the given month. Lio Convoy has had a Feb 2020 release date on it since it was put up for pre-order, I guess we are just confirming what we all expected to be true.

Had this guy in my cart a few times . Just haven’t got the gonads to follow through with the purchase . I have 0 knowledge of this version of prime . I’d buy him just for completions sake if I do wind up getting him .

 

Pretty fun toy the 1998 original was. I'd suggest you try and get a copy of that first to get a feel of the character.. lol.

 

I used to have the original Lio Convoy figure...(In spite of the fact that I have no interest in the Japanese series...any of them)... Because...Lions are cool.

But the original Lio Convoy wasn't cool. Parts clashed with each other when I tried posing him...missiles flew at my eyes without any warning...And I suspect that the MP version will just be a more complex to transform figure...but still won't be 'cool'...He may not have the hair trigger missile launchers, but it looks as though that mane and those Lion forepaws will still get in the way of each other if I wanted to put him in a cool pose...And he looks so...panelly (to coin a word if it isn't already one.) That mane looks like it's made up of about 64 different parts...panels, hence panelly. I guess it's so it can turn inside out and reveal the better looking 'robotic' lion face. Which leads me to...

The loss of a somewhat realistic lion face, and in its place... that cartoony face. It may be animation accurate, but unlike Mainframe's Beast Wars faces... it's so hard to take seriously. Especially those eyes...And before someone tells me how Mainframe's BW didn't take itself so so seriously...I know...I know. Rhinox farted in The Low Road...

But this... This is a whole different ballgame. To me, it (BWII [the show]) just looks like, well... An inferior cousin of the 'real' BW. It really is a shame, as Takara (before the merger with Tomy) produced (and still produces, as TakaraTomy) some fine products, but this doesn't appear to be one of them (IMO).


But with Lio Convoy out of the way (he was the weakest of the original BWII figures, IMO), If TakaraTomy move on to other BWII characters/designs, I hope they do Magnaboss. I forgot what he's called in Japan, as three separate figures And a boxset ONLY LATER ON,for those with money to burn. After everybody else has theirs. But at first... Lio Junior sold at Optimus Primal's original pricepoint. 'Skywap' for a bit more...And the Elephant dude (ton something?) for BW Megatron's pricepoint (or less).They'd merge into a huge Magnaboss...
