Yeah, the main selling factor for the 5-7 is the ammo is shared with the p90, which I can't have in cali.

Dude, you JUST missed out... Umbrella Corporation put up this year's run of AR15 lowers a couple weeks ago and they were gone within a week. The GF's C8 (with color-filling and touchup still to do) on the bottom, my M4 on top:

I’ve got a question, what’s the purpose of a brass catcher?

A brass deflector on a receiver, or a brass-catcher bag? The former hopefully keeps ejected brass from flying into your face, the latter traps it to make cleanup easier and keep your cases from bouncing off hard floors, thus keeping them in better shape for reloading.

I never shoot on my bro's right side anymore 'cuz he runs an AK. Tired of having brass kicked into me, haha.

That reminds me of the times I'm on the range qualifying for the M-16s...and I always had multiple hot brass from the person next to me land on the side of my face or head somehow :lol

Major nut here. My personal collection is small, but if I go to the farm, I've got a ton of stuff to choose from. It's almost all traditional there, so mine is mostly modern. I have a 870dm 12ga, with light on the front, and collapsible stock. I have 2 barrels for it, since it's such a snap to swap. Standard 26" and an 18.5 w/brake. Also a DD m4v11 w/ 18.5 barrel, acog, backup flip-ups, and I can put my bipod if if I wish, also has a light. An ak fully traditional wood, but I do want a rds on it, I think. M1a ( Springfield) with Leupold 4x16 on it. Springfield stainless 1911 loaded with decepticon grips. XD mod2 .45 for concealed carry. (Have a permit) also have my original Remington 522, which is semi-auto that can mix any length shell and it'll run it all, not just .22lr. ( short, long, long rifle)

Then there's my baby, a Sig Sauer Rattler, 5.5" 300 AAC Blackout with folding arm brace. I can't stress how awesome this thing is! I'm currently saving up for a silencer and a 1-6 scooter for it. I have a light for it, which I currently use as a rechargeable flashlight, it just needs the add-on kit for a remote switch, there's not enough room to put it anywhere but on top of the gun. Lol

I can shoot sub 2-inch groups with it out to 200 yds. I don't know how with such a short barrel, but man. Pure love.

My 1911 is an old parts-bin special built by a friend from my mom's company gun-club--long story short, in the early 00's he wanted one of the hot new Glock models at the time, his wife told him "wanna buy one gotta sell one" so basically the deal was I bought his 1911 for the price of that Glock, and he threw in extra tuning and fitting as a duty sidearm when he found out lives were going to be depending on it. Fullsize 5-incher, been with me alongside CCW creds almost every day of my adult life.

I'll have to see if I can dig up a pic of my 10" briefcase-carry Mk 18--it's an EOD PDW carbine, but turned into a pistol and with some FBI furniture tweaks and a few other things to fit specific personal needs. EOD top half, FBI bottom half, sights specially set up around the needs of a near-blind shooter--oh, and did I mention it carries two 40-round magazines full of vest-busting 5.56 NATO 77-grain Mk 262 everywhere it goes, and YES it's CCW legal where I live? :D

That's awesome. I can take my 16-24 inch overall length 300BLK Rattler Deer hunting during the "alternative" season in December since it's technically a pistol. Seems unfair. Lol

One thing I remember from high school. I had these friends(as in guys I’d talk to every now and then in class and at lunch), and often at lunch they would talk about how they’d do airsoft in the woods and the different types of guns they’d use.

    Like the grenade launchers.

In a different life I probably would’ve partook.

It did cause me to add airsoft to my bucket list.

I own a 40 Caliber Beretta that I always carry with me conceal and sometimes I open carry it. I also own a Super Redhawk 44 magnum and it is too big for me to carry and the third I own is a AK-47.

IMG_4274.JPG Life long gun nut cheking in. I'm still saving up for my first long gun though. I'm thinking a Ruger 10/22, and Remington 870 or Mossy 500. I do have my old Daisy BB rifle, which I can post pics of. I've put untold thousands of BBs through that thing.

Nice! I fell in love with long guns through Daisy too. Got a Powerline 856 that still works and all too!

Advice: Get an AR while there's a market surplus--Aero Precision is pretty good value-for-money at the entry level, though not as cheap as some. Personal rankings, worst to best:
W - Anderson, Palmetto (both of these you might get a good one, but QC isn't great and you really have to check 'em out thoroughly case-by-case)
    2 - S&W (Sport/other low-end models), Ruger, Spike's (all bling but hit-or-miss parts)
    3 - Aero, higher-end S&W
B - BCM (tightest standards in the industry), FN (overpriced for what you get but only differences from military models are the longer barrel and semi-only trigger pack), Noveske, Colt, Knight's, Sionics
+ - Umbrella (tight tolerance parts, but you gotta DIY assembly and they only make one batch a year)

Not dismissing the others, just that they're pretty stable on prices while AR's can see wild swings based on political climate and we're still reaping oversupply effects from the 2016 elections--the expected "Ban Frenzy" didn't happen so there are huge amounts of inventory being sold at fire-sale prices.

Semi nut here, only have 1 long rifle and 1 pistol right now. One day I'll get around to building a Designated Marksman platform - was a SDM in the Army, among the 1st in the program, left a certified trainer. I'm trained in most modern US military weapons systems that would be available to infantry as well as coordinated weapons fire such as helicopters doing strafing runs. Having a Ruger ar-556 in a CQB setup and a Taurus PT 111 millennium g2 9mm w/ extended IMG_20190928_205258.jpg IMG_20190928_205458.jpg power mag

I have so many fond memories of emptying that BB rifle into trees and fence posts. You?
I'm also considering getting an AR-15 as well, but it's not as high on my list of priorities.

Absolutely! Backyard shooting was the best. Though we moved one year and the power line went with us and I was a brainless teen. Was shooting at targets in our front yard and someone called the cops. Scared the shit out of me and my bro but we got off without any problems. Kept our Powerline too. Wised up after that for sure. :lol
